Job interview on tomorrow (9/25)

Just recently got a call for a job that doesn't pay a whole lot, but it can sustain me until I get one that pays close to what I was getting before. God be praised!

There's another job I'm pursuing where I'm still in the middle of the interview process. They've asked me to come in for a face-to-face interview, which will probably be a panel interview. One of my former co-workers who was recently hired said that it was pretty grueling, so I solicit your prayers that God would give me clarity of mind and speech, as well as favor with the interviewers.

OK, there was something of a false alarm on that last one. The lady called me back today and said that as of now, they have all of those positions filled and will keep me posted concerning future opportunities. Still believing God though.

Wow, it's quite interesting to read about my job journeys here, and yet again I'm beginning anew.

The last job I was asking prayer for I did get in January of this year, but I got burned out pretty quick. I was released from the job about a week ago (they cited reduced call volume, coupled with my not-so-stellar sales performance [which wasn't so stellar because I was getting burned out]), but I was already in the process of applying for a federal position--which I ultimately got. The district office with the federal job actually called me the same day I was released from my last job, and I officially accepted it this past Monday. I will be relocating to the Atlanta area for a position with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and I'm REALLY excited about having a position that will once more be in my field (biology) and one where there are LOTS of opportunity for career advancement. God be praised!!!

Good to hear!!! You're going to ATL...that is known to be a good place to really do well...esp for our black men. :-)

Yep. I do like Charlotte and I like visiting Atlanta but never really planned on moving there (really want to move to the DC area), but this is where the door opened up. With this position, I actually had a bit of flexibility in terms of where to live. Had I held out a little longer, I probably would have gotten an offer in the Philadelphia area. I still have the option to relocate elsewhere in the future and I'll most certainly be taking advantage of that when the time comes.
