Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer! That calls me from a world of care, And bids me at my Father’s throne Make all my wants and wishes known. In seasons of distress and grief, My soul has often found relief, And oft escaped the tempter’s snare, By thy return, sweet hour of prayer!
Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer! The joys I feel, the bliss I share, Of those whose anxious spirits burn With strong desires for thy return! With such I hasten to the place Where God my Savior shows His face, And gladly take my station there, And wait for thee, sweet hour of prayer!
Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer! Thy wings shall my petition bear To Him whose truth and faithfulness Engage the waiting soul to bless. And since He bids me seek His face, Believe His Word and trust His grace, I’ll cast on Him my every care, And wait for thee, sweet hour of prayer!
Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer! May I thy consolation share, Till, from Mount Pisgah’s lofty height, I view my home and take my flight. This robe of flesh I’ll drop, and rise To seize the everlasting prize, And shout, while passing through the air, “Farewell, farewell, sweet hour of prayer!”

I need thee Lord I need thee every hour I need thee Oh bless me now my Saviour I come too thee... Yes, LORD!
I grew up listening to my grandmother singing that one while she went about the house.
That's the refrain you posted...here are the verses:I need Thee every hour, most gracious Lord; No tender voice like Thine can peace afford. Refrain I need Thee, O I need Thee; Every hour I need Thee; O bless me now, my Savior, I come to Thee. I need Thee every hour, stay Thou nearby; Temptations lose their power when Thou art nigh. Refrain I need Thee every hour, in joy or pain; Come quickly and abide, or life is in vain. Refrain I need Thee every hour; teach me Thy will; And Thy rich promises in me fulfill. Refrain I need Thee every hour, most Holy One; O make me Thine indeed, Thou blessèd Son. Refrain Thanks for the memory and the ever timely reminder!

This one's in my spirit today....
IS YOUR ALL ON THE ALTAR? Elisha A. Hoffman, 1905
You have longed for sweet peace, And for faith to increase, And have earnestly, fervently prayed; But you cannot have rest, Or be perfectly blest, Until all on the altar is laid.
Refrain
Is your all on the altar of sacrifice laid? Your heart does the Spirit control? You can only be blest, And have peace and sweet rest, As you yield Him your body and soul.
Would you walk with the Lord, In the light of His Word, And have peace and contentment alway? You must do His sweet will, To be free from all ill, On the altar your all you must lay.
Refrain
O we never can know What the Lord will bestow Of the blessings for which we have prayed, Till our body and soul He doth fully control, And our all on the altar is laid.
Refrain
Who can tell all the love He will send from above, And how happy our hearts will be made, Of the fellowship sweet We shall share at His feet, When our all on the altar is laid.
Refrain
(I love to hear Yolanda Adams sing this!)

And in that Yolanda Adams moment..I hear
Take away any desire in me that hurts you Take away anything that stands between you and me I want to be what you created me to be Its my desire that you find favour in me Lord, take away anything that displeases you.
oOo take away any evil thoughts within me take away anything that proves to break your heart I want to be in sweet communion with you Its my desire, that I do everything you want me to do Lord take away, anything that displeases you
oh Lord, Remove all doubt, all insecurities Erase hate and all iniquities Discard all fear, Found deep inside of me yeah Lord take away anything that displeases you
Lord take away anything you find (take away) I'm sure theres a lot stuff that you will find (take away) Lord take away anything that displeases you
Father, take away my doubts, take away my fears, take away, those things I thought had already disappeared take the hurt, and take away the pain take away all of the things that would stop me from praising your holy name take away any desire in me that hurt you take it away.

When I was a kid, I knew that if St. Mark African Episcopal Church Sanctuary Choir intended to launch an altar call into some deep down desperation praying, they would start by singmoaning this song:
Father, I stretch my hands to Thee,
No other help I know;
If Thou withdraw Thyself from me,
Ah! whither shall I go?
