But my question is, the story was that she was fasting on his behalf, like standing in the gap for her husband. Surely he will not understand spiritual things to that point. And i thought the passages you just quoted , suggested abstaining from sex. But maybe thats a new way of lookin at it. Im always open for new things....

See thats my question. Why would he not understand spiritual things to that point. Is he a God fearing man? She may have to just turn down her plate, turn her face to the wall and wail. She may not need to "defraud" him of her treasure. Maybe that is how he feels about it.

Thats a good point! Because over all nothing should stop her from interceding on his behalf because thats her husband, and who else is going to stand in for him.
True. Very True.
I guess i was just taught ole skool. When ya fast (from food the typical well known fast) you go with out the desserts too...lol

instead of fasting, maybe should be in consecration. Oh now here's a good bible study question. What's the difference between the two? Remember Prophetess Bynum preached a message about the eternal consecration and how we were never meant to come off our consecrations. Anybody else see/hear that message? So what is the difference between fasting and consecration if any? I'll let somebody else go first. ;D

FASTING - total abstinence... not what "we" call fasting... to kill flesh... during a fast your abstain from food... CONSECRATION - set some things aside... like... during this set aside period from 6AM to 6PM, I am not going to indulge in chips, soda, TV, etc... that's what I think anyway.... Anyone else?? BTW - I did see Eternal Consecration....

I believe fasting is abstaining from food (all and/or partially).
I believe consecration is part of the sanctification process in which one seperates themselves from sinful living and commit their lives to God. I believe it is when we daily check our hearts and be led of the Spirit in all that we do. We consecrate ourselves to God, I believe this is our "reasonable service" and therefore is not something that should stop.
So though I didn't see JBW preach the message, I do believe that consecration should continue until the New Heaven and New Earth.

I was thinking of this over the weekend (the original question). Isn't this answer in 1 Corinthians 7 (the first few versus)?
