My pastor had a problem about three years ago, maybe 4. But for some reason he wasn't getting better. Even having stroke like symptoms. His wife went on the internet and researched the medications he was on and found out they were working against each other. So she took him off of them and he immediately began to improve and got better. Sometimes we have to understand like I said before, doctors only treat the symptoms you tell them you have. What if you're not sure how to explain it? What if it could be more than one thing and the thing they treat is the wrong one?
There is a woman at my church who is raising her three granddaughters because her daughter went to the doctor for a severe headache and the medications they gave her killed her. I know of another elderly man who died not because he was so old, though he was in his 80's but the doctors at the hospital gave him medications that worked against each other and attacked his vital organs. By the time the right kind of doctor came along, the damage had been done.
That's all my point is. Take your health into your own hands. Don't just take what the doctor says and treat it as law. Everything is on the internet now. You don't have to pay any one to gather info for you. GOOGLE IT. When I went into Wild Oats (Whole Foods in some places) the woman was so helpful. She went to her computer and printed off some information for me about supplements to help keep my blood sugar regulated. You don't get that from doctors. And the thing about supplements is that they are from food. But because many of us don't eat right we don't get the nutrients we need on a daily basis. It's amazing to me how as a nation we have come to trust medications made from chemicals more than vitamins and minerals that come from whole foods.
The one doctor who came to our church had done some other research outside the normal medical research. She is the one who told me that the Thyroid when not healthy can contribute to diabetes. I had just had my thyroid removed three months earlier. But she told us too that the minerals and vitamins we need for thyroid health that ward off diabetes are Magnesium, kelp and idoine. If these three are dificient in the body and thyroid it can lead to diabetes. The doctor who took my thyroid told me none of that. (but this would explain why the same doctor you go to for thyroid issues is the same doctor you go to for diabetes.) They know this but don't give you the information.
I sat there and cried I was so angry. But that's when she said that we have to do it ourselves. But my thing is, if you don't even know that there is a potential problem, how do you know that you are supposed to be looking up something? That's why I was so upset. But thank God for pastors who care about the health of their flock. My pastor did tell us though that his incident made him want to share more with us as a congregation. And I thank God he did.
