Subject: Pop Bynum - You will be missed!!!!!!!
Body: I had the opportunity to meet Pop Bynum over 2 months ago via my friend, his daughter, Evangelist Janice Bynum.
I attended one of her services where Pop and Mom Bynum were there in Chicago. Janice told her father about me and my radio show. He wanted to meet me.
We communicated a couple of time via phone and two weeks ago my family and I visited St. Jude Church of God In Christ in Chicago.
He named me the radio lady.......... He could never remember Tamiko. But he remembered Carter.
Before he began to preach one of his last messages, He asked, is the radio lady here? She called me and said her family and her will be here.
I raised my hand and said, Elder Bynum, I am here.
He invited me up to testify and tell the people about me/my ministry.
Before I began speaking he stopped me and said, I don't know why I am going this way, but I see greatness in you. Don't let the devil steal it from you. He also keyed in on my marriage. He said don't let the devil steal that either. Marriage is honorable before God.
He talked about how long him and his wife had been married, how marriage is about compromises. How him and his wife never argued all those years. How he trusted her and she trusted him. -I am paraphrasing.
I will never forget those words he spoke. It was as if God was speaking directly to me. As if God was encouraging me.
I was one of the last people that had the privilege to hear him preach and that he ministered too in a church service..
That Sunday, he preached on Faith and Forgiveness. I will never forget Pop Bynum saying, If you don't forgive, you are going to hell.
The brief time I knew him and his wife was profound. He made a lasting impression on me. I am privileged and honored to have known him.
My sincere prayers are with my friend Janice Bynum and her family.
I plan to write a tribute about him in my Publication, Chicagoland Minority Journal. The paper will hit the streets of Chicago, Monday July 7th.
