I didn't watch it as we don't have cable and I haven't had an opportunity yet today to see if I can watch it online.
But, my boss came in this morning quite ticked off at the whole thing...........
Did anyone on the board watch it? I'm dying to hear your comments.

I started watching the segments while in milwaukee at a family reunion. You can watch portions of the segments online. The above link will take you to the site.
I did not know that in washington DC, 85% of black americans are living with AIDS.. Are you kidding me! 1 out 10 households, are infected with AIDS. I was outraged. I won't even express my initial thoughts to that.
Some parts were very disturbing and upsetting, and others I cried. After it was done I got on my knees, and asked God, what can I do, to help black americans. There is so much that is happening to and with our people that it is so overwhelming.

Jasmine..that is crazy. The things that we never hear about..we have our church leaders screaming about it in Africa..yet, why are the voices not shouting out in Washington ?

I didn't see the segment about Black women and Black children, but I did see the one about Black men. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Something else that I would recommend you all check out is this special report that was done by the Washington Post entitled, "Being a Black Man".

I did not watch it because from what I saw in the previews it wasn't worth my time. I'm sick of the same old same old when it comes to being Black in America.
But antywy.....
I heard them talking about it on the Steve Harvey show this morning. Someone called in and said the responses on the CNN website were so off the chain that they shut down the message board. Oh now they don't want to hear how America resonded to it?

I know most people don't realize the aids crisis is what it is but if you all think no one is talking about it YES THEY ARE. They just are being ignored on a national gov't level. www.campaigntoendaids.org/I personally know one of the men who works in this organization. His picture is actully on the front page of this website as you arrow down. He's the handsome one on the right. He's been HIV positive for about 22 years now and he is C2EA Outreach Co-Chair. They do rallies, marches, demonstrations. They go before congress trying to get fair housing, medical and everything else people with HIV need are are often being denied. There are stories where they have come to cities where people were being discriminated against because of their HIV status, in one case a small boy. There is a video on one of the websites of this. If you want to do something, you could probably contact this organization and speak with him. He will come to your city, your church. I believe you can also make monetary donations as well as volunteer your time in some of the rallies. There are also aids crisis centers to volunteer in. so go to that website and start looking around. Much is being done but it's being ignored and it's not something that makes mainstream media.

Oh now they don't want to hear how America resonded to it? It wasn't the same old sad song to me. The segments came about of one family having a family reunion, and it breaks off into the diferrent stories, and segments. but nevertheless, it was worth the watch. I read the majority of the comments on the CNN boards, and i can't really say that I was surprised. When segments as such pertain to being black in america.. white folks feel like blacks are crying and whining. You can read the comments, but I read stuff like that all the time. It just shows me that this country and the issue of race and equality remains divided.
