What do you call apostle over apostles and bishop over bishops.. I would call the need for and practice of any such title(s) "unscriptural" and "traditions of men". And I would simply call the people "brother" or "sister"...if indeed they are.

To me, this isn't so much about the doctrinal position of a denomination (which isn't news) as it is their decision to do what they did. I respect it and have no problem with it. Well now, given your very clear and oft stated position of opposition to women pastors, there's certainly no surprise there, LOL! And although we disagree about the answer, I do still love that "Can they?"/"Should they?" perspective you've often brought to the topic. Why?

^Sis. Keita, I would have said the same thing had they not featured the magazine with the sisters on the cover simply because they speak in tongues and embrace spiritual gifts. So there! LOL!
And I say that I'm surprised that SBC bookstores carry the magazine because the SBC is a predominantly Caucasian organization which seems to prefer the Southern Gospel genre and "Gospel Today" is a magazine largely featuring Black artists of contemporary Gospel music.

ROFLOL!!! ;D Well I guess you tollllllllld me, lol! Seriously, I know your position, love you anyway and was just teasing you. Hey, I'm even willing to risk assuming that you "would have said the same thing had they not featured the magazine with the sisters brothers on the cover simply because they speak in tongues and embrace spiritual gifts." Right? Again, I was kidding with my question about SBC carrying "Gospel Today". Honestly, I just wanted to connect what I knew would be your answer to something I said earlier when I read Teresa Hairston's statement that:my first thought was that perhaps Lifeway/Southern Baptist Convention simply finds our "sister" easier to tolerate than our "sistas", even with our "sister" Sheryl Brady sitting among them. But then, like John McCain, with his party's nomination of Sarah Palin, I also believe that in much, if not most, of America, in a face-off, racism will still trump sexism every time.

^Sis. Keita, you are correct that if it were Bishops Jakes, Long, Morton, Jones, etc.--men who speak with tongues and embrace spiritual gifts--my position would be the same.
