On another message board I frequent, I was in the middle of a conversation with someone and made the comment, "The days of simply pointing at White folks as the source of our problems and not engaging in anything constructive on our own behalf is over."
I received a response to this statement from the moderator of the board. Now mind, she's supposed to be a Christian and an evangelist:
"Let me tell your young snotty nosed a** something .....
If the courageous blacks (before your ilk of snotty nosed handkerchief head Negroes) had not got up and fought and been murdered, hung, dragged behind horses and trucks, stabbed, dogs sicked on them, kidnapped, burned out of their homes, and God knows what else whites perpetrated upon blacks that I will not list here... for asking for (not only theirs) but your civil rights, your black behind would still be in chains and begging for bread.
You black people who have never suffered one day for the privileges blacks have today -- those of you who make asinine statements such as yours ..... MAKE ME WANNA PEWK !"
Am I missing something, or did she actually PROVE the point I was making?
Blind anger is such a terrible thing. And she's the type of loves the victim label and exploits it. I actually feel sorry for her.

No, you didn't miss anything KB... It's important to remember and know on whose shoulders we stand. Just as important is to know and remember that the purpose of standing on somebody else's shoulders is to broaden and clarify the vision in order to have better direction.... I believe that at such a (re)defining moment in history, and for such a time as this, it is true for all, regardless of race, color, culture and other attributes we might feel entitled to hold on to.

Its a mindset... while she's dwelling on the pass, and stuck on what they did to us, ... step over her and keep on going. Anger and hate won't get her anywhere... this is rooted in us from generation to generation... it is up to us (this generation) to break it, destry it and move on to success.

Krazeboi, Nope..u didn't mis anything... She was wrong indeed she was for that statement. But i think she and many others like her are fearful that things like affirmative action and civil rights will be wisked away and pretended like it is not needed anymore because we have a Black president.
Now I will be the first to say that yes I agree with you... The days of saying that racism is as tough are some what over. There will still be people that are victims to racism. But I think we can all say that blaming everything on "da man" is over! LOL

Thanks guys. I'm not saying I'm always right about everything, but I would rather be constructive and not destructive in my approach. And that doesn't mean I turn a blind eye to injustice either, in any of its forms. Some people just don't understand that you CAN do both.

First Id like to address several things
1) You have a great many black people who misunderstand today's youth and erroneously and ignorant lump them all into the same category which to me is tantamount to the same prejudices they themselves were victims of when other label as black people as lazy stupid or ignorant. Shame on Them
2) The older generation needs to wake up. Yes those things happened but stop beating the younger generation over the head with it... Try EDUCATING and not from the perspective of ANGER... teach the younger generation.. This is what we fought for so that YOU could have a chance and an opportunity.. now you have the RESPONSIBILITY to make the most of it
3) The younger generation needs to respect the older generation and learn from them.
4) Both generations needs to realize the racism is institutionalized prejudice and that it still exists in America and it doesnt just come from the " white man ". It still needs to be fought against and exposed where it exists but it doesnt have to have a hold on you.
5) And lastly CHRISTIANS needs to realize that it is GOD that holds the Key of David and when HE opens a door NO MAN can close it... No ignorant racist being on the planet no matter what ethnic background they may be can stop GOD from opening a door for you if HE wants it open... period....
here endeth the lesson...

OK, here's the latest installment. Note, this conversation originally concerned HIV. I don't believe in the conspiracy theory in that it was designed by the government to target gays and Blacks; I accept conventional science on the matter (the virus originated in Africa, jumped the species barrier from apes to humans, and subsequently spread throughout the world). So here we go:
I mentioned before that they are raising a whole new generation of who I called 'dummies' ... better word might be 'submissives'. Generations before them knew too much and were not easily manipulated. But this new generation, they can tell these young people anything. They may bring them up to make them think that they are 'thinking' for themselves, but the truth is what you see is a generation of brain-washed handkerchief heads under submission. They don't wanna be like us -- We constantly remind each other of the white man's nature and what he is capable of doing. We know that we have got to keep our eyes on him. This new generation doesn't believe all that is necessary.
You see with this new generation, when Satan comes in the form of a snake, acting outwardly like a snake rollin in on his belly they see that it's a snake, but if Satan comes dressed up looking all gorgeous with half truths spouting out from his mouth ... they are tricked, hoodwinked and fooled into believing what he says..
The Jewish have got it right. They will never ever allow the world to forget what certain people are capable of doing . You will be raked over the coles if you think you are going to shut them up. You will be crucified if you try to place blame on them for what ever condition they may be in today because of the holocaust that happened back then.
Many Blacks (not all), especially this new generation ... (you know them quickly when they spout out - 'I ain't like dem udder blacks -I'm different' ) .... are quick to sound just like the white man -- oh, that happened a loooong time ago forget about it; they will tell you that whites today didn't have anything to do with what went on back then; ... they will say things like ..black folks should pull themselves up and stop blaming whitey for their woes ; ... you know the drill. -- That all is true on the surface .... but,
they have completely missed it ! Meanwhile the white man is laughing at this new generation of Blacks ... They have them just where they want them.
I am convinced beyond a shadow of a doubt that I have a certified N-U-T on my hands.
