Pastor Linwood Dillard started with creating the right atmosphere, and Evangelist Joyce Rodgers took it from there. She actually made an altar call for those who wanted to receive the baptism of the Holy Ghost right before Donnie took the microphone... Wow...now I'm a little more hurt/upset because there was an opportunity for ppl to be baptized in the HG...] I felt that same mad/sad feeling as I watched that video. Imho, brother Donnie's "redirection" was both sincerely and seriously out of order. And in the process, he quenched Holy Spirit, without whom there is no power to speak, receive, or live in deliverance. First things first. ... i think sometimes we are so QUICK to see what is wrong with something.. I think sometimes "we" are painfully, blindly, and fruitlessly slow to recognize, and often just downright resistant to even examining, "what is wrong with something". Indeed we would and do PRAISE THE LORD for just that ONE! Particularly, and even if, it was only brother Donnie, himself. But, I do believe that our GOD, moving by His SPIRIT, is also SO MUCH bigger and better ( "exceedingly, abundantly") than that, and especially in a gathering of His saints ( "greater works"). Which is why I'm always grieved whenever I see the flow of Holy Spirit being quenched by anyone. And I've had to repent, on more than one occassion, for doing exactly that... myself.

Me too Giants: I don't think anyone is negating the behind the scenes....but.....<<sigh>>.....there's so much regarding this particular "stonghold"....confidential info...all I can say is when dealing ESPECIALLY with sexual sins and/or things that we KNOW is a stronghold that has attacked many ppl....you have to use wisdom..... There's a LOT of things going on behind the scenes.....UGH, this makes me so angry/sad....

As one who favors the old "axe to the root" approach, I'm really not a fan at all of support groups for dysfunctional Christians. (Which makse me something of an anomaly among my fellow pastoral counselors, but I don't mind. ) Besides, I haven't forgotten getting some of my best drug connections through NA meeting hookups. Imho, 12-step (style) programs/support groups are about (endless) recovery, so slipping and (back)sliding is common. But in Christ, I received restoration. TOTALLY Different.

Hmmmm........I may have been viewing it wrong, or maybe I might have missed something, but as Evang. Joyce Rogers was ministering to the ppl about coming up to be filled with the HG (how we mean being filled) I thought there was a little space after she invited them to the altar, and as I seen it, no one was coming up, or not too many ppl were responding. And for the ones who did come up (im trying to remember seeing some) I guess I was wondering that someone would have taken them to the side and ministered to them according to the invitation. IMPO I dont believe that an invitation to receive the HG (as we say) needs to be drawn out. I mean if one is already saved and seeking for the baptism of the HG (as taught) then how much time do you need to figure out if that's what you want? Especially if that's something you know you need....
