I was talking to someone and they were discussing that based on a person's name, some of the struggles they go through could be linked to it....
The example was a boy that has a "female" name and they turn out gay and vice versa.....
Now I know that there a few girls given "unisex" names to give them hopefully an advantage to get more job opportunities since before the interview they wouldn't know that the person was a female....
any thoughts?

I don't know how important names are but I will say that once I spent time with a Jewish family and I noticed how they introduced their children.....
The father introduced the children to everyone in this formula:
Hi this is David and he is our accountant because he is blessed with financial acumen....
This is Jennifer and she is our attorney because she likes to debate
This is Samuel and he is our Doctor because he is interested in anatomy.....
and these children were arm babies and toddlers that could barely talk.......
That has been years ago...but the Father says its their tradition and everyone in their family was addressed by their given name and destiny.....
I thought that was interesting......

Look at the examples in the Word..
Jesus changed Simon's name to Peter. The name Simon means water. Water is every changing. It takes the shape of whatever container it is placed in. Jesus changed his name to Peter which meant stone or rock.. something firm.. solid and that stands the test of time.
God changed Jacobs name to Israel. Jacob means trickster or swindler. Israel means Prince of God.
Thats why I sked GOD for the names of my children...

OK, Jennifer (Nikkol) do your know the meaning of your real name and how your parent came to the decision? In Africa, children are named according to what taken place around their birth, or what political or spiritual climate. Several African friends and associates I know are given two names, an American name and an African name and they know the meaning of both... they take naming their children very serious... My mom was going to name me Belinda, but thank God she didn't, a nurse at the hospital name me Melinda, which mean graceful.... Belinda and Brenda mean beautiful serpent ... My mom was too sick to name me.. I think about how quickly Jacob changed Rachel second son name from Benoni (son of my sorrow) to Benjamin (son of my right hand)... How God change Jacob's name to Israel.

My literal first and middle names translate into
Strong Determination, Strong Protection or Strong Faith depending on the translation.
My first sons name translation means.. One who calls unrighteousness to righteousness... Therefore he is the evangelist.. my wifes anointing is as an evangelist...
My second sons name translation means.. In the praises of the Lord there is strength.. He is the praiser.. my wife and father all sing in choirs and my wife is on the praise team in her church. O have an anointing to produce and engineer music..
NOW added to that God has a special name for me personally..
Azariah which means " Whom Jehovah Helps "

I always knew I was ROYALTY!!!! lolol see below:
The girl's name Patricia; p(a)-tri-cia or pat-ricia, also used as boy's name Patricia, is pronounced pa-TRISH-ah. It is of Latin origin, and its meaning is "noble; regal; patrician". Feminine form of Patrick. The Romans once were divided socially and politically into two major classes, the plebeians and the patricians. To be patrician meant one was highly ranked, an aristocrat. The Patron saint of Naples in Italy is St Patricia. The name became popular when it was used for one of Queen Victoria's granddaughters. (Princess Patricia of Connaught ). It is also popular nowadays in Spain. According to Social Security Administration records, the name peaked at #3 from 1937-1943 in the USA. From 1928 to 1967, the name was ranked among the top #11 female names. After that it dropped in popularity reaching a low of #442 in 2007.
