imho, very excellent criteria, be also and equally true about whatever servant is preaching or teaching concerning the Body of Christ, in whom there is neither male nor female?

I think private pastoral counseling between opposite sexes is always, at best, risky business and highly ill-advised. But looking at, listening and ministering to the many sisters I've met who are trying to come out of the pain of a sexual encounter or illicit relationship with a male pastor, and which almost always began with those private meetings, I would think that the presently much more prevalent "male pastor to female church member" type of counseling arrangement ought to be causing folks more concern than the reverse, and more alarm than it seems to.

I believe that Whatever else God calls a woman to do, "seeing about" her sisters is always "women's work". Praise God for her anointed multitasking self! LOL!!!

What you said Jasmine just made me remember something.... I remember when a guy was prophesying. He first asked my husband if it was okay for him to do so (respecting the order of the house and the head of the household, my husband) BEFORE he prophesied to me.


Side Note: I do think that it is very interesting that when it comes down to certain scriptures, those that seem to be "against" what we'd (general) prefer are the ones that are usually seen as needing more detail and study to know what is being said. An example would be about fornication.... nothing really to go into detail with. And for others, even the issue of homosexuality needs a deeper discussion. This is not saying it's wrong to study, etc. However, I do believe that sometimes, in not taking things at its face value, it can seem as though we (general) are picking and choosing what things we will follow and what things we will not. This is probably a different topic but, should we take the Bible at face value? If not, who decides what things should and shouldn't be take as such? Should we read the Bible strictly based on the culture of that time or should we see the scriptures as not being "culture specific" but rather being "God specific" (or Christianity specific). If not, why or why not?... actually, this is a different question (LOL).

Just maybe...I can see what you all are saying about the SS classes being broken up maybe more for the feloowship at that time of learning amongst women, and men..(which we dont practice at our church, everyone is in the class learning the same word) But......

The reason why I dont agree with the pastor first and foremost is because of the reasoning that he gave. So is he saying that God just happened to show them "revelation" concerning this thing about women after the woman has been teaching for 54 years and there's never been a real problem posed before (im thinkin)?

Or is he saying that they just ran up on some "new found" knowledge concerning this?

Come on now......after 54 years?? I dont see how that can be God's way. Personally I am tired of man interpreting scripture the way they see it and putting the "Lord's" stamp of approval on it and callin it the word. True there have been a lot of women that were held back in ministry because of gender funny business. God has not been concerned about gender when it came to preaching and teaching his word. Now counseling, that might be different. Now personally I have counseled men (not alone in an excluded place), and God had truly moved and sent a word of encouragment and direction in the midst. We are ALL vessels, and not looked upon as superior or inferior, or capable or incapable because of our gender/physical likeness.

And I have heard men say they will not sit under a woman, now that sounds like pride to me? Some would say well its not in a man's nature to be instructed by a woman...... come on now. You can respect that female supervisor on your job with the utmost respect but when it comes to the house of the Lord and the different duties there performed by women you wanna all of a sudden get a big burst of Pride in the name of the Lord?? Please....

But the other reason or conclusion the pastor had was, they are free to work above a man in any other position but outside the church..... thats ridiculous. Thats whats wrong with the church today. That is simply DIVISION and the enemy is reaping havoc with that particular thing. Oh he has many other tactics but he is pretty much confident that this gender tactic will last till the end of the war, so he's counting on this one everytime.

Just like I'm a minister of music. During praise and worship time I sort of "have the floor" so to speak and my husband is an elder. But during Praise and Worship time, we both cant be running things, someone is going to have to submit.Even though I have been anointed to minister in this area , I cant be saying oh God is leading me this way and he saying no God is leading him this way when it comes to that particular thing. Dont get me wrong I know when God is shifting the service another way...thats different. Now my husband is not a singer, so he would be out of order to cut in to what God is leading me to do at that time just because he is my "head" and he would feel as though above all things he has the authority to do what he wants and I have to be subject. Now wouldnt that be out of order and not done decently if he would do that?

I have heard some POWERFUL women of God speak messages, TEACH messages to a mixed congregation of men, women, and children, and the spirit of the Lord was present to do what he desired. No schisms, and divisions in the service, everything was smooth and God was glorified. Thats the way it SHOULD be.
And ppl take that scripture and run it in the ground , justifying their selfishness for another one of God's CREATIONS to be silenced, suppressed and held in bondage. So just because it says TEACH , so does that mean everything else is okay? So prophecying is okay and praying because it doesnt say that specifically and preaching is okay too. Sometimes ppl don't have a full understanding of what the scripture means, what was going on at that point in time, and the fact of who he was writing to and why.

Now you find someone who has a problem with submitting to what GOD is doing at that time through a Woman (a vessel) just because of her physical likeness then you have found someone who has a problem....theres no other way around it (to me).
Why would anyone have an "issue" with someone doing the work of the Lord because they are the opposite gender? I mean really its not like theyre God and they are running the show. I dont see how it would hurt , confuse, or throw off anyone who didnt already have that "gender" issue in their heart from the jump. Thats just my opinion yall. This gender battle has been going on too long and has been a sneaky, tricky device to use against the body of Christ.

Churches, marriages, ministries, are divided because of the "gender tactic" the enemy has used AGAINST the body of Christ. Pastors have shunned the work of their wives because of it, women are in church with gifts lying dormant because of it. Men are in the pulpit with pride because of it, the Body of Christ is seperated because of it, unity is not reigning because of it. Oh its truly a weapon of mass destruction. So all of the women you see in the forefront "TEACHING" whether on tv, or in the local assembly are out of order because Paul used the word 'Teach" in that scripture?

I am a teacher of the gospel, and the word that I have in my spirit is not for just women...its for the whole body of Christ. God does not just deal with women about women, and men about men..... If he did then it would be sooo clear and it would come across to both sexes that exact way. God is not confused....we are...God is not intimidated...we are
When are we going to unify fully as the body of Christ? So in Eph 4:11 the "Teachers" in the scripture just meant that women CAN be teachers but only to women? We all need each other in this day and time. There are some powerful men of God that I know that have been TAUGHT and INSTRUCTED by women and some are still under them now ( as far their church). If it doesnt take away from the power of God, or the glory of God, then whats Wrong? The bible says in Luk 9:50 "And Jesus said unto him, Forbid [him] not: for he that is not against us is for us." As the body of Christ we need to choose our battles wisely.


Im going to conclude with this:
Gal 3:26-29-For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. And if ye [be] Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

We should do all that we do in the kingdom as ONE. There is unity when we are all ONE. United we stand divided we fall.

In teaching you are speaking what "thus Saith the Lord" concerning an individual regarding a certain topic.

Example: If I am teaching on Praise it is still directed and constructed based on the Word of God and that word would be a Word needed for a particular time and purpose concerning the people; whether male or female.

If I prophecy to someone regarding their praise (and the Lord has told me to give them specific instructions for their breakthrough) it is still a Word from God.... Instruction is part of teaching.

Wouldn't this be considered teaching as well?

I glazed your post, so i really didn't pay attention to the questions asked, but i will hope to response later.

Sunday school classes, in my opinion should be separate. In sunday school class, the discussion extends Far more beyond the Topic of the discussion at hand. There has to be a place where men and women can speak about certain issues, along with applying the word to their lives freely.

I don't think you should dismiss the pastor's stance based on when he may have come to embrace what he now believes as truth. If this were the baptism of the Holy Spirit or spiritual gifts that he was embracing after 50+ years in the ministry, would you question the validity of either simply based on the time it took for him to come into that knowledge?
