Although there are probably countless books that can be bought on the subject, it really isn't as hard as these books would make it seem. You know you are in the right local assembly because God has said that this is where you belong. You may be at that particular assembly only for a season. But you have to make sure that you are staying connected to God so that if he tells you to go somewhere else, you haven't become so attached to that particular local assembly that you miss where God is desiring to move you to.
Personally, I can't tell you how you would know based on anything more than hearing from God. If you are connected with Him, you'll know if you are in the assembly that He would have you in.

Biblically, the answer is that the "right church" is the one in your city, comprised of individuals who submit to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Because in those days, it was one church per city.
Now contemporarily speaking, it can be a whole 'nother ballgame...

Simply, a church that's teaching and living according to the Word of God and walking in the love of God is the "right church". Jesus said by these two things shall men know we are his disciples indeed. Many in the church have gifts but don't know the Word, and there are many with discernment that don't walk in love (character). I have yet to find a church that's walking in these two things wholeheartedly. But I do know there are some out there, even in the midst of moral deterioration both inside and outside the church. God always has a remnant of saints who are committed entirely to him.

The right church is where God has ordained you to be. its a place where the word of God is taught and rightly divided. Its a place where the spirit of the Lord shows up consisitently and not every now and then. Its a place where the God is being glorified, the people are edified and the works of the enemy are nullifed.
Its a place where spirtual maturity and growth are encouraged and people actually displaying fruit.

But im wondering, is it just about where the word of God is taught and where ppl show love and etc? Or is it all those things plus the fact that God wants to use you and your giftings he gave you to play an intricate role in the ministry? Because there are a lot of churches that can say that they are displaying those things (above) but is that the place where God wants to use you at? Or the place where your gifts will be recieved and used to edify?
I think that makes a difference as well. Because you could be in a church that does all of the above we named, but yet not being used when you have gifts and abilities but there's no room for them to be used, because some ppl are already into position there.
Then you could be in a church , but God says your season is up because there is another work for you to do , to make an impact on other's lives at another ministry, or to learn more and the ministry that you are in has taught you all they could but its time for you to move forward to deeper things , and he leads you to a ministry that is equipped for that purpose in YOUR life.
So I think it's all about the leading of the Lord. Now if you are a babe in Christ just starting out, then yes you need to find somewhere that can give you foundational teaching to build you up to become stronger in the knowledge of Christ. And stay there and grow in the Lord until HE says otherwise.

No..it's not church hopping. Because as mentioned in the above post..you can outgrow a place and God may just tell you your time is up where you are...and not being negative..you must be obedient to what God is telling you. Because someone else's life depends on your obedience to move when God says to move. As already mentioned there is a greater purpose in your salvation.

okay then stillfocused1 I have a question...You are in a church and have become a member but you have heard rumors about this ministry and have come into knowledge that it is true do you leave because you see what is going on or do you stay? Now if you leave you will hear all types of things like you were never with us in the first beginning. Church can really be hard sometimes

beingquiet...
First of all you must know the voice of God for yourself..and be obedient to what he is telling you to do.. and only stay if God tells you to stay..and if tells you to leave..be quick in being obedient to his voice or whatever way he uses to communicate with you.
Secondly...shut your ears off from receiving what others are saying...and ask others not to discuss those matters in your hearing.
Thirdly...Let them talk..because people say what they want to when people leave a church..and this happens many times when people don't understand they will say alot of things yet, never understand the truth of the matter.
Fourth..Know who you are in Christ..because when you know who you are in the Lord...it won't matter what others think or say..because you will stand unwavering in what the Lord has spoken to you..

Now if you leave you will hear all types of things like you were never with us in the first beginning. Church can really be hard sometimes Beingquite..... If you are listening to a lot of rumors and gossips, your ear might not be open to the voice of God, but to many voices. Those words are seed that affect your spirit man and clog your spiritual ears. Instead of relaying on the voice of God, your whole focus will be on what you heard. You should ask yourself, who led you to the church, self, family, friends or the Holy Spirit. Who planted in that church, self or the Holy Spirit. What is your purpose in that church, What God want you to learn, go through, and do in that church. Too many people will join a church and tell the pastor that God led them there and make a covenant with the church before God and the congregation. When things get hot or they begin to hear or see things, all the sudden it wasn't God. You will never find a purpose church, there will always be something wrong. God don't plant you in a church, to feel good, be happy, but forHis divine purpose to be fulfill in your life and to add and delete things in your life. I'm not telling to stay in a church where God removed His Name and the Holy Spirit or stay in mess, but to delete what you heard people saying and all other voice that came to ear and ask God to clean your spirit man from rumors, gossips, negative words or anything that not God, and to open your ears only to His voice. One thing you don't want to do is move out of the Will of God, it can cost you a life time, believe me, because I'm paying for it. ATT
