1st Timothy 4:1 Now the Spirit explicitly says that in the latter times some will depart from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and the teachings of demons, 2 through the hypocrisy of liars whose consciences are seared. 3 They forbid marriage and demand abstinence from foods that God created to be received with gratitude by those who believe and know the truth. 4 For everything created by God is good, and nothing should be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, 5 since it is sanctified by the word of God and by prayer. Acts 10:12 Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air. 13 And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat. 14 But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean. 15 And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common. And ALL OF Leviticus 11 Was it a sin for a Jewish person to eat certain foods? If so did Jesus actually tell them in mark 7:19 that its okay to eat what ever you want? Did Jesus eat those things being as though he was without sin? Is Acts 10 symbolic or was it actual? Should we eat pork, shrimp, lobsters, clams crabs today?

I think the Mark 7:19 account, was to show the pharisees that its not what goes in that has you messed up but what comes out, because thats coming fromt he heart. I think he was sending a message to the pharisees about their heart, even tho Jesus said purging all meats.
Well it could have been two - fold. Because about the meats he was saying no matter what kind you ate, or what you ate, or how you ate it, its coming out anyway. But what is already in your heart is coming anyway too, so be aware, and check yourself.!!

Acts 10: 9-15 9On the morrow, as they went on their journey, and drew nigh unto the city, Peter went up upon the housetop to pray about the sixth hour:
10And he became very hungry, and would have eaten: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance,
11And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending upon him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth:
12Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.
13And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat.
14But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean.
15And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.
Here is an exergesis regarding what to and not eat.
In the strongest possible terms and appealing to Ezekiel 4:14, Peter faces what he may view as a temptation or test of loyalty. He refuses, announcing his firm resolve to live in ritual purity (compare Mt 16:22; Lk 22:33): I have never eaten anything impure or unclean (Lev 10:10; 11:1-47; Deut 14:3-21). That is, I have never eaten anything that is accessible to every human being (NIV impure, literally "common") but by divine mandate is forbidden to me as part of God's holy people. Such food is unclean, not only because God declares it to be such but also because if I eat it I will become ritually defiled, unfit to come into God's presence in worship.
The voice comes again, this time providing the rationale: God has declared all foods clean. Peter is not to go on declaring some foods profane or "common." Jesus' teaching and behavior had certainly prepared the way for such a declaration (Mk 7:14-23; Lk 11:39-41), and the cross was the salvific basis for it (Eph 2:14-15; Col 2:14). The sheet from heaven and the voice both bear witness that all God's creatures are now to be viewed as clean and good, not to be refused (Gen 1:31; 1 Tim 4:3).
In other words...eat what you will.

We can eat what we want to eat...but, is what we eat good for us; no matter good it tastes ? I know many will say that it's in the OT and it's the law. Yet, it is my thought that God that the OT has been given to us for a purpose and an example of what has happened and can happen we if walk in disobedience to things the very things God has told us not to do. Shrimp, crabs, catfish, eels, lobsters, and etc...are scavangers and will eat anything. Shrimp, lobsters, and etc they eat stuff at the bottom of the ocean..and I loved blue crabs..as long as I didn't have to clean them...and those chittlin lovers...I grew up in NC and I will not eat those things.. Has anyone ever wondered why that are called chittlins ? On a serious note as I am now taking medications for dieases brought on by stress and improper eating habits; I have found out that our bodies were not made to digest the toxins that are consumed through what we eat.

You're so right! I heard Jordan Rubin say that the oceans would be piled high with garbage if it wasn't for the scrimps, lobsters and other scavengers. Not a pretty thought. The thing is, God used to punished those that went against the laws and ate those things. Today, we punish ourselves, our bodies and overall health, when we do.

That what I think to, BECK. Jesus told him to kill AND eat. Unless Jesus was lying and didn't really want him to eat, why would he say that? Now there are those that say that was just so that he would talk to the Gentiles...... at the same time, he did tell Peter to eat.
Regarding what foods to eat, etc, I think that it really depends on your (personal) body. People can live up to their 80's etc and eat all kinds of things and may not have diabetes, high blood pressure, etc. Others eat correctly and may still not live a long time. Even in loosing weight, depending on your body, you can't do the same thing that someone else does because it may not work for you.
Side Note: Personally, I don't eat any type of seafood (that includes shripm and crabs). I think it smells and tastes nasty. :-)

Side Note: Personally, I don't eat any type of seafood (that includes shripm and crabs). I think it smells and tastes nasty. :-) Just adding to what has been said. Along with body type.. we should learn to eat in Moderation. You don't need to eat a 10 gallon bucket of chitlins all by yourself, also consider the portion size. Even with crab, shrimp. and lobster. Eat in moderation then the cholestoral won't be so high. I know why they are called "chitterlings" or "chitlins" as we call them. However, even that won't stop me from eating them. lol Again the key is moderation. Everything don't need to be fried, and everything don't need to be soaked in some high fat content sauce. Normally the way "us's" eat it what causes high cholestoral, weight gain, and heart disease. Examples of some things we eat: Corn, rice and chicken or whatever meat we prefer. Looks healthy, but Corn and rice are starches AND carbohydrates. Now we like to slap on the butter and sugar. which actually does more harm. Also neither one of these are a good source of fiber, and can raise the blood glucose levels to dangerous levels. the balance of nutrition is off. And from statistics.. Diabetes, and Heart disease is the number 1 killer among african americans. Another example; I ate some BBQ ribs, cornbread, and cabbage last night. I ate to my hearts content, and today I am paying for it. My stomach is in knots, my back is hurting, and my insides feel clogged up. The meal was awesome, but I ate too much.

Can we? Yes
Should we? No but if you just gotta, then do so in moderation.
