I thought that it would be a good time to discuss salvation and what exactly it means. I'm going to be reviewing this question so that we can stay on the same topic and not go off onto tangents. Take time to think about this before you respond, preferably with scripture.
Question: What is salvation? / What does it mean to be saved? (How would you explain this to someone)

I would explain salvation like such:
It is appointed that man shall die once. The wages of SIN is death, and the soul that sinneth shall die. We All have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God and that is where salvation comes in. Since all have sinned, all are appointed to die once, and because the wages of Sin is death, and since death is what we have earned.
God saved or "Delivered" us from a "fate" that would cause injury or death.
So what does Salvation, Saved, or Delivered mean. Being "saved" is like being "saved" from a burning building. You are preserved from Injury or Death. You have been Redeemed.
God Saved, Delivered, Preserved, or Redeemed us from Eternal DEATH.
The Plan..Jesus had to die on the cross for OUR sins.
*i gotta go limited time, will respond with more, but im sure others can carry on from that.

OK, you have enrolled in Soteriology 101. This is an 18-week course, so fasten up your seatbelts and get ready for the ride.
Seriously, this topic could take forever. There are so many aspects of salvation. It truly is mind blowing.

LOL, we could--but what Jesus did for us wasn't simple.

Amen! The "act" wasn't simple at all but explaining it should be

Amen explaining it should be very simple, as it is simply clear in the word of God.

OK, so which aspect of salvation should we start with: regeneration, justification, sanctification, glorification, redemption, reconciliation, adoption, atonement, propitiation, election, etc.?

LOL, how would you present the gospel to the unsaved? Would you honestly ask them which one should you start with or would you go a different route and allow other knowledge to come in stages?

That's what I'm looking for as well........ If someone comes to you and doesn't know about salvation or who Jesus is, what will we tell them? How do you know you're saved? What is it based on?

Nikkol, being human, the one thing that people like to talk about most is themselves. There's nothing wrong with that; its just the way we are. The Gospel is personal so you have to present it that way. I begin there and then build.

Well because we do know what salvation is and who Jesus is, we should have an answer, even if its just a personal testimony of how the Lord has "saved"you
Yes there is regeneration, conversion, sanctification, justification, atonement, reconciliation and etc.
but at that precise moment..People should hear that Jesus Loves you, he died on the corss for your sins. and here's why, here's how, and I stand as a living witness, a testimony to that fact.
Most of all, let the Lord use you.

Oh, I thought we were talking about an in-depth study (more or less), and not a brief explanation to a seeker/skeptic. My bad.

LOL, I'll stick around--but I'm more teacher than evangelist, so I can't help but get down to the nitty gritty of certain subjects.
