Are we not to stand in the gap, because we have Jesus who intercedes for them? I'm not saying that, but the passage I quoted puts an entirely different spin on it from an OT perspective. I think most preachers who like to quote the scripture from Ezekiel miss this very crucial point.

Please read Isaiah 59:15- to apprx.. to verse 18...this explains alot..please read it in the different tranlations of the bible..when I read this in the NIV some time, ago; it changed the way I looked at "standing in the gap"..and please make sure you read this in the NIV as well.

How exactly does this tie into the discussion, stillfocused? You're not getting off THAT easily.

Krazee...I wasn't trying to get the hook !! I was at work and since we use a computer for most of what we do..those things can be traced.
What I got from this starting at Eze. 22:30 and ending up at Isaiah 59:15-17was that many take for granted the important role that intercession plays in this walk we have with Jesus Christ. Upon further study..I kept going back to the word "appalled" which is found in the NIV version. Even though we are praying and fasting and etc, and all these things are important. I realized there was an area that was lacking it was the intercession. Which often times require that we give up our agenda, lay down our lists, and allow the things that mattered the most to take first place in our prayer meeting, our prayer times, our prayer walks, and etc. and quieten our spirit to hear what matters the most to our Heavenly Father. Yes, we may come together for 1 hr a week and pray for the needs and requests of the people; yet, what He may require of of us is go before him on the behalf of a matter that we may not benefit from. Understanding that because of a lack commitment to come before Him, pick up our weapons, and place ourselves in the breach; to repair the holes and cracks in the wall many were falling and judgment was forth coming; even though that's what God wanted. And lastly many were dying both spiritually and physically because there are not enough people who are willing to repair the "cracks" in the wall; as intercession is often behind the scenes, with no high honors or great accolades it's the work of the minstry that goes in lack the most.
