My thoughts are reflective in nature. Just listening to the news is so depressing sometimes. My question is "what have we become"? How did it get so easy to throw away life? I heard earlier today that a man killed his 18 month old daughter. She wouldn't stop crying so he beat her up and then took her outside in frigid temperatures to leave her in the woods! What was going through his mind? She died from hypothermia, but before that... she tried to get out the woods! They discovered her tiny footprints...
I heard about the two children that lost their lives in an icy pond. One brother was trying to save the other and you could hear their mother's anguished cry to "save her babies"... my heart goes out to her.
I heard about the teenager that went on a shooting rampage in the mall. He killed 4 or 5 people before the police took him out. What happened?
When will we as the people of GOD stand up and take our land back? When will we seek His face and turn from our wicked ways? He will hear us, forgive our sins and heal our land. Isn't is time our land is healed and our sins forgiven?
I weep for the children that come into this world with no one to love them. I weep for the young ladies that have no where to go and they give birth alone and afraid. I weep for our people that feel it is necessary to degrade themselves and their bodies. I weep for those that don't have anywhere to go, no one to love and no place to call home.
Help me understand, if you can....

God these stories really pull at my heart... expecially about the 18 month old child... I have a 14 month old son...so it really hits close to home for me. I dont know if we will ever fully understand the reasoning behind why people do what they do. I struggle with understanding why I do what I do.. The mystery of inquity works in us all. Coupled with the lack of moral and spiritual standards being shown all over the country, you could see why people feel like there is no hope. Even the church not being the church and lifting up the standards of God... you hear more about health and wealth attached to the sacrifice of Christ than you do about the power to break strongholds and sin nature.
Taking back our land has to start with repentance, but how does one really repent when what they are doing is acceptable in their own eyes. IF the church doesnt see the error in our ways, how will healing of the land begin???

You said a mouthful there!!!! It's a shame that we are not crying loud, sparing not or lifiting up a standard. Crying loud and sparing not, would mean that we would have to be like Jesus "no respect of person"... The message of a Godly standard messes with the theology of "health, wealth, and prosperity"... the feel good salvation message. You cant live by the lifted standard doing your own thing, thinking any way you want, and living the way you want to live. Sometimes we wont cry loud, because we want to "just fit in"... don't want to ruffle the curtains if you will...

Is that what we've become or is that what we truly are? If it were not for the grace of God, we too would be those killers, rapists and everything else. As believers we have a hope within us, they don't. The glory will be when we get in His presence, and our answer to the question "What have we become" will be far different than what it is now. But for now, sinful men will do what sinful men do.

But it ain't all sinful men doing it... that's the problem in an of itself. It's not always a "us vs them"... it's a "us vs us"....

I too grieve over what I hear in the news but I also know that it is to be expected for things will only become worse. Yes, the Body need to lift up a standard, however I also know that these things must come to pass................

Just 'cause we're saved doesn't mean we don't sin. Heck, saved folk can kill with the best of 'em, and then do it in the name of God! I'm just saying we have a larger hope that we can turn to when we even think about shaking our children a little bit too hard or lifting a hand in anger. We can have the Spirit, but we've still got to contend with that flesh as long as we're in these dust suits. Since Cain our countenance has fallen and flesh risen to kill our brother and I don't suspect it'll stop until Christ returns. Until then, we pray.

All of this was prophesied. "The love of many shall wax cold..." This isn't to say that the church shouldn't have a position on the matter, but we're living in the last days. Although we have a ways to go to be that church without spot or wrinkle, I think we should stop acting as though the church's "failures" are responsible for everything wrong in the world today.

i agree with krazeeboi assessment on this. the church failures are not responsible for everything wrong with the world today. Its like at times we forget that Satan is yet the prince of the air.
Its prophecied, it must come to pass. Gods word will accomplish what it was sent to do. These are all the things to come before Jesus came back. Saints of old has been saying it forever, Jesus is soon to return.
Each month, each year, it gets worse and worse.
