Just musing...

I'm just sitting here thinking about all of the events of the past few months that have affected the church in general and its members.

1) I wonder how we got to where we are with the celebrity preachers. Has our infatuation with fame and prosperity and the American way blinded us to the reality of the situation?

Have we developed a 'Cultural Christianity' that doesn't even need Christ but relies instead on the self- generated energy and wind that we wrongly label Ruah, developed by these 'ministries'.

2) I wonder too about the implications of this 'strange fire' where the final judgment that separates the sheep from the goats hears these words, "Depart from me..I never, (or, there never was a time past present or future that I ever knew you) knew you.
Even the pleading , "But did we not cast devils out in your name...?" will fall on deaf ears.

Yeah kanyon I was thinking about this too. Its kind of scary. That scritpure came into my mind. The Day that you Hear my voice harden not your heart. 2 Chronicles 7:14
if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. Those are the scriptures that came to my mind when I read this post..

Kanyon..you have made valid points, and I, too have thought of the same thing. For, one I think that there is not reverential of God..and I know that God wants to us have all we require of Him and from Him. I feel sometimes that because we have gotten away from the testing of Christ and alot don't people don't seek the Lord for themselves there has become a reliance on those who currently say they have a word from the Lord. What comes to mind is when God told the children of Israel to consecrate themselves so that could they could meet with Him..but, they gotfearful and told Moses to go to the Lord for them..
