And whether it's accepted or not. I honestly believe that Hurricane Katrina revealed something more than we have been able to admit..yet, racism is still here; it never went anywhere. Anyway, I believe that a race of people who for so long have been hated, murdered, feared, and mistreated at every turn...will the race that will have major part in turning this country back to God. Relocation because of circumstances..I say, not. Relocation because God is shaking up things; because some things are about to change in our land.
Jasmine, I agree !! And shamefully the biggest enemies of the African American have been African Americans who have either "arrived" at or "on their way to the Promised Land". Who somehow have magically forgotten what poverty was like for them. All I can say is God help us all..

I agree. It's important as even those who "get out" so to speak come back and help someone else. It should be a cyclical effect that continues until everyone is "out"....
or even staying in the area to make a greater impact to help even more people.... we all must work together.

Here's a thought. How much black on "others" crime actually exist out there? Not much. I am always surprised that people can feel that racists comments can be taken out of context. It's like if someone said, "if you kill all of the white people in the world you would get rid of 90% of the evil in the world because you would get rid of 100% of the people that practice wicca."

guest...good thought and point. Yet, racist comments have been around since the times of Jesus Christ and before. Check out the woman at the well. Christ totalled dismissed the comment and STILL offered what her something that she needed more that the words of haterd that she herself had just spoken. He offered to her a drink of living water..all I am saying it's time for us to partake and drink of the living water daily..so, that we offer clowns like William Bennett and those who feel superior and see no crime in their game; something that will the quench their thirst for power and control..called the Word of God. And I don't mean the kind that will make them good; yet, the kind that will bring conviction and honest at one's self. As I always say "God ain't always pleased with us; in all we do or say. Because sometimes we're so messed up that we see it and won't even admit it." Our leaders and our government is being exposed nationally and globally. My question is " What are we going to do about it ?"

Stillfocused, great point. As I said concerning this same subject on another message board: "At any rate, as a Black man, I won't even waste my energy on this dude's asinine, inane comments. He's in God's hands. Just like any criminal or non-criminal for that matter, Black or otherwise, if he doesn't believe and obey the Gospel, the lake of fire will be his eternal home."

We shouldn't waste our energy but we do have a responsibility. Pray for our "so called" leaders in America.

I'm glad he's not a "leader" (at least not anymore). But to even wield an influence on the airwaves, you still need to make sure that what you are saying is appropriate. But hey, he WAS a part of the Reagan administration, so what can you expect?
We'll see what Al, Jesse, and Co. come up with on this one.

I was watching Meet the Press this morning and they were commenting on Mr Bennett's comments. Sad, yet, I watched a man representing the Republician party have no understanding that the remark was racism and was reflection of the Republican party. He saw nothing wrong with it. WE can discuss this until we turn blue in face; yet, we must at all costs know what the party we vote, and affllicate ourselves truly represents. Aside from the lies spoken during elections, we must know their thoughts on things that affect us personally, and as a race. I know that we must pray; yet, I believe it's now time for us to learn how to pray at all times; and become part of the very system we have entrusted to someone else.

Sometimes (in the vast majority of cases), it's absolutely MIND-BOGGLING how White folks don't even have a clue.

Sad my brother, but, so true !! Keep in mind they never face anything that blows their world to bits; until 9/11 doing business with Middle Eastern countries was good business sense.
