Here's another link to history on birth control overall. www.webmd.com/content/article/71/81244.htm?action=related_linkI did do a little reading about the founder of Planned Parenthood and there are definitely two sides to her story. PP says she was an advocate for minorities embraced by Black leaders of the day. And then there are the others who view her work as racial genocide. Haven't read enough to make a decision. But I do know that birth control overall was not a new idea and had been practiced for centuries before this woman came along. So for me I would not call birth control evil. Now how birth control was used in the hands of unscrupulous people is something else. Still, I wouldn't throw out the baby with the bath water IMHO.

The one post on page 2 that was edited says that you did it, so I guess you are the only one that can answer that. LOL

it was on page 2, it was a reply to the post you had writtin to me. About the single females using birth control. I had replied to expound further on my original statement and even gave various reason of why a single christian women could be using birth control pills, and not for the obvious reasons.
But i had said a lot of things in that post, but its all gone, its all gone. "sad and leaves the building".

Haven't read enough to make a decision. Please research more before deciding that there's two sides to Sanger's story because once you do, you'll see there really isn't. Sanger was a staunch white supremist and eugenicist. Eugenicists strongly espouse racial supremacy and “purity,” particularly of the “Aryan” race and their goal is to purify the bloodlines and improve the race by encouraging the “fit” to reproduce and the “unfit” to restrict their reproduction. The mandate of a eugenicist is to contain so-called “inferior” races through segregation, sterilization, birth control and abortion. And I'll give you one guess as to whom she believed to be the inferior race. That's why Sanger started the Birth Control League, which was the forerunner of Planned Parenthood, and began the Negro Project. You're correct, Sanger was accepted by black leaders of the day. Sounds good, doesn't it? But there's a twisted reason for that and it truly tells how evil this woman was and is a testament to the peril of following leaders. Sanger enlisted our black ministers and doctors in her efforts to spread her message of contraception, sterilization, and abortion in the black community. Earlier, in another post I put up one of Sanger's quotes. Right now, the rest of that quote seems appropriate: “The most successful educational approach to the Negro is through a religious appeal. We do not want the word to get out that we want to exterminate the Negro population, and the minister is the man who can straighten out that idea if it occurs to any of their more rebellious members.” Our folks in the South and poorer areas, were, according to Sanger, producing “alarmingly more than their share” of babies. So guess what she did? She was able to enlist black leaders such as W.E.B. Dubois and minister Dr. Adam Clayton Powell to her cause. Even Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. was involved. So yup, she was embraced by some black leaders of the day because she used them to get to us! So, no there's only one side to her story. Saying that there's more to her view and that her motives may be misunderstood is like saying there's more to Hitler's story and that he too, was misunderstood.

1. preventing pregnancy 2. regulating the menstrual cycle 3. treat some symptoms of menopause 4. Clear acne 5. a morning after pill for emergency contraception 6. other conditions determined by your doctor

Its ok. I don't want this to turn into something major. I do want to be mindful of keeping the topic flowing in the right direction. It was on page 2, we are on page 5 now. Lets just keep it going.
I basically was responding to ASWSOY, stating that is correct not everyone single woman uses birth control, because they are "obviously having sex" so I was retracting that comment and adding why a single female (christian) could use it. (i posted a new post with some reasons why they are being used). I also posted a amen to the second comment, and the last comment I responded with, I didn't have an answer to when we begin to accept things with ungodly origins, but our understanding of these changes as time goes on.
