Elymas was a court sorcerer or advisor
for the regional governor . When He hear the message of Barnabas and Soul,he decided that he would
take steps necessary to protect his position.
as with Simon, Elymas was arragant and was unable
to recieve the message that God sent to his Island City.
Luke carefully noted that Paul responded to this spiritual challenge as one whom the Holy Ghost had filled ( Acts 13:9)
The gift of discernment worked through him as he identified
the source of his spiritual opposition. The Spirit of God then
moved upon Paul to confront Elymas......
Power of the Holy Spirit IS Greater than
AStrology, Illusions,Greek God's, Mysticism,

of every system that it confronts. Simon
knew that his system was obsolete when Peter laid
hands on his neighbors. Elymas knew that he had
to take a stand or he would lose his power to this new religion

the midnight baptismal service demonstrated
the Spirit's Dominance in the world's supermarket of belief systems. A faithful church still confronts the efforts of paganism, astrology, mysticism, and spiritualism and the Spirit of God proves
superior each and every time.....
