The Partridge Family
Growing up in the 70's was truly a great time. Family back then was a very important and a vital part of our communities. Whether we lived in single family homes, projects or high-rises we could always count on home. Children actually played outside and had family meals. The neighborhood most of us grew up in practically raised us. I can remember getting beatings from my neighbors for doing something wrong, then going home only to get another one by my mom. (laughing) She'd often give me the option of getting a beating or punishment. I said a beating cause I didn't want to miss out on watching T.V., some how I always ended up getting both. (lol) I can remember saying; "man I can't watch cartoons, Tom & Jerry is coming on". (sucking my teeth) "Popeye just went off" (rolling my eyes), "I can't believe I'm not going to be able to see none of my favorite shows". Sneaking in the room I asked; "Mom, can I watch Good times"?, NOPE! "Mom, The Jefferson's are on", "DEKE I SAID NO"! Sitting on the bed with arms folded I'd silently scream, "OOOH NO! I'm going to miss Benny Hill"..(lol)
One of my favorite shows that I glued my self to the boob-tube to watch was The Partridge Family. It was a sitcom about an American family consisting of five children and a mother who was a widow. The dream she had for their family was to make it big in the music arena. All of them played instruments and sang. My favorite song by them was called "Come On Get Happy". I would dance every time the song came on. I admired them because they worked together very hard to make their dreams come true. Even though the place they lived, San Pueblo California, was not a real town the way the family portrayed their love for one another and operated as one, even in bad times, made the show that much more worth watching.
Parents back in those days didn't take no mess. Parents, like the Partridge family, had dreams and aspirations for their children. Visions of their children becoming doctors, lawyers, dancers, singers, etc, basically anything that would get them to a place that was better than where they were caused parenting to take on a whole new meaning. Taken on 2 and 3 jobs sometimes just to make ends meet, all to get us to a place were there vision of their babies would become reality.
Today we don't have this type of family unit anymore. We are birthing a generation that is living out a different creed. A entirely new species of the Partridge family has erected and is ravishing our homes. Parents barely spend time with their children. Discipline is out the door, family time is a past time and watching television without video game interruptions, sexual undertones and violence is most definitely not going to happen. Lastly and most importantly PARENTAL VISION is either dim (fading) or NO MORE. Pro 29:18a says..
Where there is no revelation,(LIGHT OR VISION) the people cast off restraint;
Our children are wild and dying because they have no guidance. There only way to react is to rebel by casting off the weak bonds of love that were placed on them. They perish due to no vision. Young mothers and fathers who have barley been parented themselves. A Fatherless generation, babies are having babies, grandmothers in their late twenties early 30's what has the world come too. Unfortunately families can't even go to the church for guidance because we are displaying the same thing. Whatever manifests in the natural is a direct result of whats going on in the spiritual realm.
Leaders birthing air and premature children. Spiritual handicapped offspring, water head babies from not having a balanced spiritual and natural diet. Wild Lone Rangers having spiritual miscarriages and abortions all because NO VISION as been instilled to give them proper nutrition and boundaries. Those who do make it through their fist year of ministry birth either burn themselves out, become hirelings or become come part of the new Partridge family.
Why am I talking about this? What does the Partridge family have to do with anything. Its simple, The partridge is a species of bird that not only produces after its own kind but it has the ability to HATCH THE EGGS OF OTHER SPECIES OF BIRDS. Please allow me go further. For the past couple of weeks I have been talking to leaders who don't have a vision, but have a ministry, their vision is dim (fading), so they can't effectively relay it to their people or their vision is clearly parroting someone else (not their own). This is such an illegal operation as it relates to spiritual birthing and kingdom building and we must not continue on this route if we want to see THE LORDS VISION of a whole BODY OF CHRIST become manifest.
Prov. 17:11 says..Like a partridge that hatches eggs it did not lay is the man who gains riches by unjust means. When his life is half gone, they will desert him, and in the end he will prove to be a fool. (NIV)
Many leaders are stealing eggs (visions, ministries, etc) and trying to hatch what doesn't belong to them. Sadly the joy of parenting is short lived because what they have deceivingly passed as their own, dies and or waste away. Burnt out (life half gone) alone (deserted) looking like a fool, many wind up going back to the drawing bored or should I say back to the nesting grounds to find more eggs. Leaders with no vision and who lack anointing seek after these types of believers because they have the ability to birth whatever they take as their own.
Now therefore, let not my blood fall to the earth before the face of the LORD for the king of Israel is come out to seek a flea, as when one doth hunt a partridge in the mountains. 1Sa 26:20
Saul haunted David like a partridge. Though David was small in stature {a flea) he had the ability to produce things Saul couldn't. David was able to defeat Goliath, David had the heart of the people, David was God's anointed, David was able to gain the love and respect of Saul's son Jonathan. Saul's little golden goose or should i say golden partridge had run away and he had to find him and kill him before he falls into the hands of someone else and possibly become his demise.
Fellow Citizens we need another touch from the Holy Spirit as it relates to VISION. Some of us need God to come down and literally SPIT in our eyes so we can be released from these delusions of grander we are trying to pass as His own. With no clue of our callings and no clear vision in sight we take the vehicles of our gifts and ride aimlessly into the kingdom of darkness of this world with no directives. The word of God says,
And the LORD answered me, and said, WRITE THE VISION, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. (Hab. 2:2)
For the prophecy (VISION) came not in old time by the will of man but holy men of God spake [as they were] moved by the Holy Ghost. (2 Pet. 1:21)
"Pimpin aint easy I hear the players say", but we sure don't make it hard for these Spiritual Pimps posing as leaders, Get my juice, wipe my borough, tell me what the lord is saying, open my door, drive me around, shine my shoes, the list goes on..ALL TO GET AN ANOINTING THAT U WILL NEVER GET cause it was NEVER THEIR'S IN THE FIRST PLACE T GIVE. Spiritual PLAGIARISM and IDENTITY THEFT MUST NOT BE ALLOWED TO OPERATE in the house hold of faith.
There are many ministries that are springing up with great force and are clearly being recognizied within the kingdom. These are they with VISION, DIRECTIVES, a grace that many can admire and gleaned from. The anointing can be transferred by association, triculation, impartation, and or emulation, however YOUR VISION, YOUR IDENTITY is never lost in the process. I truly believe that all work will be tried by the fires of the Lord. (1 Cor. 3:13-15) Therefore, we must be wise master builders and this cannot be done with out vision. My question to the body of Christ today is, IS THE VISION YOU ARE BUILDING YOURS? ARE YOU SEEING THROUGH CLEAR EYES? DID THE VISION COME FROM GOD?
The Apostles in Acts chapter 6 and verse 4 said they were going to give themselves over to prayer and the ministry of God's word. Prayer was the key to their life of accuracy as it related to distributing God's instructions, releasing His people, keeping order and furthering God's kingdom. PRAYER KEEPS YOUR VISION PURE. In ministry the Lord brought to me a woman that was Pastoring. She had the largest pair of glasses on I had ever saw. I remember thinking how big, thick and round they were saying in my mind she might as well be blind. The Holy Spirit spoke at that moment and said her VISION WAS FADING He told me to pray for her SPIRITUAL EYESIGHT I followed the leading of the Holy Spirit and did just that and HER NATURAL EYESIGHT was healed. Till this day she no longer wears glasses. I speak even now by the prompting of the Holy Spirit..I rebuke farsightedness and nearsightedness off you the readers eyesight. I speak 20/20 vision to your spiritual eyesight and clarity to your vision. Lord I pray that you would reveal and uncover your will in their life and then let it be done. REMOVE ANY AND OR ALL SCALES IN JESUS NAME.
Well, maybe you say like some often have told me, I can't write, I just cant seem to put it in words. I say to you this day, If God inspired it GOD WILL cause it to manifest. I break that dimension of writer's block off of the mindset of you God's anointed. I decree that God will send you and your ministry a scribe anointing that will be able to pen what's in your heart with accuracy, precision and passion. While you wait for the scribe anointing to fall upon you LIVE THE VISION in front of your people until you see it manifest on the tables of their hearts. If you can't write, speak or live the vision IT WAS NOT GOD INSPIRED.
Apostle Paul's had bad eyesight however his vision was so passionately full in his heart of hearts that it took on FLESH.
YE ARE THE EPISTLES WRITTEN IN OUR HEARTS, known and read of all men. (2 Cor. 3:2)
I pray that the visions of God's people that reads this article becomes so burdensome that it takes on life and dwells among God's people causing transformation, redemption and the furtherance of Christ's gospel and kingdom.
