Prayer Alert - Hurricane Rita
Hurricane Rita, now a category 4 storm, is bearing down on the Gulf Coast. Let's not passively stand and watch this happen. It is time to pray, to stand in faith before the Lord and intercede for this storm to rapidly diminish in strength.
Remember, my friends, Jesus said the church was the "salt of the earth." In ancient times, salt was valuable for many reasons, not the least of which was its preservative qualities. Meat that would otherwise rot and decay, when salted, would be preserved from the organic processes of destruction. In society, we are salt. Our prayer presence can protect and preserve what is otherwise open to destruction. It does not take a lot of salt to do the job.
Thus, let us stand in prayer, let us repent on behalf of our nation, and speak to this storm with the authority of the Redeemer Himself, and let us do so without delay.
