Hey All,
Just thought I give a praise report of what the Lord is doing in my Life. Taking the story all the way back. I started with the company I work for in November of 2004. I went through somethings with my first manager and was transferred to work with in my opinion one of the best managers in the company. I used to take a lot of heat from people in the company because they thought I messed up my first managers portfolio. I would ask these same individuals, if I messed up her portfolio, why would they have me assisting one of the best managers in the office? Does that even make sense. You are talking about a manager who manages over 4500 units..2 in which are the companies money maker...why would they do that if I was such a screw up? Nevertheless, the need to prove myself was endless.
They gave my manager an awesome opportunity to go open and run a satellite office for the company. She jumped on it. close to home, less drive, who wouldn't take on that responsibility. During that time, I was actually training her new assistant, and I would work with another manager who was taking on her 23 properties. I was alittle discouraged because, when I was initially hired, it was with hopes that as soon as they opened a satellite office close to my home, they would transfer to the new location. I didnt' let anyone know about my discouragement, I just gave it to God.
The lady I was training, was a Christian, and we begin to talk about the new area in where they were going to have the satellite office. She had heard so much bad stuff about " North Las Vegas" that she was having second thoughts. I encouraged her to the fullest, letting her know that I live in north las vegas, and its fast growing, and the area that has alot of crime is no where near where we live (myself & the manager). Well she just couldn't do it. Henderson was the place for her. I said well it looks like you have a choice to make, but lets pray before you make this decision.
1 week later, I was informed that I was going to the new satellite office, because this sister didn't want to go. I believe they gave my manager the option to choose who she wanted to take to work with her and she choose me.
I can tell you the enemy began to act a fool. As word got out, people kept trying to throw things in my face about my previous manager and her failing accounts. I didn't say anything. What could i say...I believed that I had proven my self and the Vice President of community services informed me that she was in my corner with regards to the previous manager
Any way..making a long story very short
They moved us to a new office building to start our own satellite office of the company. We left those 23 properties, and took on 13 new properties, averaging about 3000 units. I think that had every intention that we would fail, and would be forced to go back to one of the main offices. During this time I was still working as her assistant, but the properties kept coming in. In March 06 I was promoted to a (fast track manager). went from hourly to salary and etc.. had 5 properties that i was working on. Not fully the manager but working side by side as these properties would be turned over to me. I couldn't take these properties until I received my license from the Nevada Real Estate Division. May 24, 06 received my license and now was able to use my title. CM (community manager)
Well we had a luncheon at our corporate office the other day, the CEO ask my supervising manager, how was I doing and how were my accounts looking. I was sitting down eating a slice of pizza, and she starts smiling at me. I am like ok, what they over there talking about.
We get back to our office, and I open up my email and I had a mesage from my VP of community services. They had 9 properties that they needed to send to our office and wanted me to manage all 9.
I had known about 2 of the properties, but they were in the care of my supervisor until i was officially introduced as the manager.
God is just so awesome, because I was also at the point like, they just passing out properties left and right, but havent sent any my way.
Ok, I got my own assistant, my own office (been had this for some months), but God is soo awesome.
More properties = more money, and right now..me and my husband need a little boost in our finances.
God is awesome. I came into this industry knowing nothing about it except that every homeowner hates the word HOA, but even things in this industry can change when you have the right people.
