Saboteurs “You Cannot Conquer What You Are Not Willing To Confront” Romans 8:37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. What is a Saboteur? Answer: Someone or something that commits sabotage or deliberately causes wrecks. John 10:10 “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” A saboteur is the little voice telling you why you cannot have, and why you do not deserve it. It’s the voice that constantly reminds you of your past mistakes, past failures, and past defeats. It wants to steal your joy, kill your desire, and destroy your future, keeping you bound to your present state of apathy never reaching your full potential. **Saboteurs only show themselves, when you are called to move forward**This is a portion of a bible class that I taught last week... Can Anyone Identify a Saboteur? And how have you dealt with them?

Hey Beck!
I have been looking for you! Please check your PM!
But to answer your question...for me it is the issue of weight... when I go to battle it... there is the little voice thst says that I'm just going to gain it all back...that I can't do it... that it going to be too hard... Even when I do suceed... that voice is still there...

Good Question!
Like Kitty said, one form of sabotuer is that voice that tells you, you cannot succeed, or be successful, you will never get over this or that. I have found that people are sabotuers, and when it relates to personal expectations, visions, dreams, your destiny...telling them wrong people can stop you from moving forward, because they can kill your dreams.
People will have you doubting what GOD has already said will come to pass.
How do you deal with it, or handle it...Don't reveal, and cut' em loose.

Mine is time
I have said it before but time beats the hell out me. When I am waiting for the Lord to do something and it seems to tarry . I find myself starting to say how much longer God. When Lord! Time is so not my friend lol. But I am getting better with it , I think.
Also what you said Jas because after I have told some folk and time is still taking it's sweet time lol I really get anxious and start getting on God nerves lol.

Myself !! Getting things done a little too late. And I have also found out that strife and division can sabatoge what God is doing..especially when the enemy uses women within the house for a purpose in Him and they would rather fight, talk, posture, and control others...blinded to the tricks of the enemy and what he is doing.

I was thinking, and I had to come back and post this. Sometimes its ourself or ownself that can sabotage, more than any other. I know that for myself, I have been my own worst enemy in certain areas.

Been there done that too.
Fear of success. Fear of the unknown. Dreading the future. What if?
There's a whole group of them.

That is true, and to confront it, it has to be identified. That's why I also agree with Vindicated and I believe that it is rooted in fear(s)
It also seems to me that, a lot of times, it comes from low self esteem. It generates the main fear, fear of failure, and it's deadly because some people get to the point where they don't even fear to fail anymore, they just know they will... and they stop trying, all the while rationalizing the reason why they did not even "bother" trying this or that, and some are very good at that and can actually deceive themselves.
That's when it becomes sabotage, self sabotage.
So, there is the saboteur that comes from the outside, and then the saboteur that is already inside.
And, you are the one who taught the class so, I'll just sit down in my corner and listen to the rest of it!

I agree with what all of you have said...
After we have identified our Saboteur.... Why is it that we have such a hard time dealing with it?
Maybe we have become so comfortable with it that it has become a part of our life and has wedged itself into a place of dependancy. This makes it that much harder to deal with... The bible says that Jesus saw the man at the pool and KNEW he had been there for some time...Sometimes people can just look at us and see what is our biggest problem, but we always gives excuses for it...

I talk about this in my upcoming book. I have three meditations in it about The Struggle and The Release. I appreciate God for letting you start this thread because these meditations are some of the ones that I had small question marks about, (should I include them?) This is my confirmation from God that they are to REMAIN in my book. Here is an excerp from one of the meditations: "I want to write about the struggle to release and to trust, even though holding on is killing us. I want to write about the struggle between the part of you that wants to hold on to the comfort of the painfully familiar and the part of you that wnats to break out into the safety of the unknown. I want to write about the struggle of breaking out of what is normal into true normalcy. Out of the place where you feel as if you are the only one and into the place where you understand that we are all more alike than different."

Vindicated..you have just opened up something that we rarely ask ourselves..yet, now the question is: is it really a struggle or is it really fear ? The fear of not knowing or the fear of letting go out what is familiar..because of all the uncertainties that come with letting go the very thing that has brought comfort to us for so long ?

Accepting how you feel about yourself, accepting what ppl say about you or telling you what to do... standing still are less work, less struggle, no criticism, no fight or warring in the spirit, no vision, no hope, and less faith.... It is giving up your dream and calling and it is giving into low self-esteem, doubt, ppl and the enemy. It comes within: your enter enemy (self, your flesh) and out: people that you allow to keep you down and evil spirits that whispers into your ear... listening to too many voices bring confusion and doubt. You must shut up all those voices and listen to the voice of God....
There are three that keep you from going forward.
1. self 2. people 3. Satan the real enemy
