<----- Has major issue with the term soul mate since I met mine... In the words of Joan from Girlfriend, " I met my soul mate... it was over rated" LOL I now prefer the term God Chosen Mates.... What's the difference ? based on what we have been taught on what a soulmate is, there would be a huge difference between a soulmate and God's Chosen mate. We have been taught that with soulmates, the notion of God bringing together two lost hearts who experience the end to their loneliness and realize complete compatibility in all the deepest of their existence. They experience conflict-free conversations, sometimes even without talking, discover reams of shared interests, hobbies, and passions, and finally, spend days upon days of heart stopping, hand clinching romantic walks on the beach, or through the park. No hardships, no struggles, just starry-eyed wonder-forever! Sounds so enticing huh! However, I have yet to see this experience, except in some romance novel. Even the best of marriages face hardships, and periods of where they can't stand to look at each other. We have also been taught to believe that a soul mate, will be the person that we "instantly connect with". They may not necessarily be the one God has chosen for you, but the connection that is shared could lead you to believe they are. The problem here is that we connect with so many people, and if we were to take this belief at face value, EVERYBODY we click with would be our soul mate..hmm. LoL IMHO, a soulmate is not something you find, its someone you intentionally and prayerfully become. We all want to experience that deep, loving, soul-touching relationships in marriage, and that kind of connection is accomplished only through committed effortI've been married for 13 years..Somethings come natural to us, somethings we have to continuously work at. Nevertheless, it requires an effort on both of our parts to stay connected to each other. It takes effort to keep those feelings of "being in Love". Everyday we learn something new about each other, why, because we are constantly growing, We change over time. The effort on our part to fulfill that longing, must never cease on our part. So is there really a difference between a soul mate, and God Chosen mate? My experience would say they are the same. My chosen mate, is my soul mate, because this is an eternity thing for me.

That would be my thoughts also. That Gods chosen mate for me is my soul mate .

Guys...
I will be back at some point in time to share my beliefs on the differences but I think Jas covered the main definitions of the differences.
But to give a very short sentence... this is what I have learned...
a soul mate may be evreything you want in a mate...
A God chosen mate is everything that God has specifically pick for you in a spouse. In what He has joined together...
