I got this from myspace Bulletin..... Interesting Date: May 28, 2008 12:22 PM Subject: Absalom in the Kingdom Exposed Body:
The spirit of Absalom is nothing more than Jezebel in disguise. Psalms 3-7 were all Psalms David wrote when he was on the run from his son Absalom. God has been giving the Body of Christ opportunity to deal with all Absalom's we have created in our lives! Just some quick characteristics of Absalom: Absalom was the 3rd born son of David/he was born to a woman named Macaah (II Sam 3:3) a lady whom David married during the time he was running from Saul. Macaah was a Syrian woman (Geshur) and basically became a relationship born out of burn-out, frustration, fear, anxiety and hurt. It's interesting that Macaah's name in Hebrew means "oppression" So Absalom was a legitimate son of an illegitimate relationship; illegitimate because everyone knew David was next in line to be King of Israel, and he should have been marrying someone of priestly or at least Israeli decent. Out of this relationship came a man who would become a deceiver, a manipulator, a conspirator, and a man so insecure, he would build a monument to his own name in Jerusalem because he never had a son to carry on his name (II Sam. 13-18). While David was in the Tabernacle stealing the heart of God, Absalom was at the city gates stealing the hearts of the men of Israel.
What does this mean for us? Some of us have created relationships, connections, ministries, and even whole denominations out of fear, insecurity, burn- out, anger and running from the devil! This is the hour in which God is calling us to deal with and let go of every Absalom we have created, no matter how good, how wonderful or even how precious they are to us! If we refuse to deal with them, God will send a Joab to us to kill our Absalom! If we refuse to move forward in this, we will never be able to get to that true place of dominion God has called us to! And that Absalom we are trying so hard to protect could ultimately be our downfall.

Something funny but not really funny. I had a dream a couple nights ago about Jezebel I went to let my dog out to use the bathroom and she was floating there wearing purple and gold. She had long black hair and it was in a ponytail and hanging long over her shoulder. She was dancing like an Egyptian moving her arms and hands. When I saw her I knew she was evil. I started talking to the Lord out loud. I was saying Lord Jesus with every word I spoke. Then other people maybe my family walked up and I tried to get them to pray with me and call on the Lord. It was jet black outside with lightening striking in the sky behind her as she danced.
Why did I just get the creeps from talking about it?

I found interesting that she was wearing purple and gold... I know purple stands for royalty... Have a blessed evening everyone !! In my dream she was a beautiful woman. Maybe because she was floating on air and right at my back door I perceived her to be evil. It was just darkness and her dancing on air and lightening right behind her in the sky. I started to say Lord Jesus you are an awesome God , Lord Jesus you are the holiest etc. I kept saying the name Jesus to make her leave lol. I woke up spooked and thankful that I had taken a sleeping pill Forgot to mention I opened the door to let my dog out to go to the bathroom. How about even after seeing her I still told my dog to go use it lol My dog would not budge.

I found interesting that she was wearing purple and gold... I know purple stands for royalty... Well, Jezebel WAS a powerful queen, albeit from a most unlikely royal lineage, married to Ahab, a wimpy king... and she's always quite a fascinating personality for bible study, imho. We have visited this subject more than once over the years, and for those who may not know, our most recent discussion of "Jezebel" is HEREI do think Absalom, (especially in light of King David's own parentage, Nathan's prophecy to David, David's various children, his assorted baby mommas, and generally dysfunctional family relationships) also, imho, makes for an equally fascinating bible study. Overall, I find just really seeing and studying bible "characters" as real live human beings, with all the "stuff" that entails, always has great impact on and for me.

I was always "intrigued" by the way Absalom died and also the way David loved him and grieved for him... I've always wondered why was Absalom so "special" to David?... So much went into their relationship...

I was always "intrigued" by the way Absalom died and also the way David loved him and grieved for him... I've always wondered why was Absalom so "special" to David?... So much went into their relationship... Well one Absolom was the most beautiful of all in Israel. No blemish from his head to his toes. He had this long hair that weighed four pounds. So all the people liked him for his beauty if nothing else. But Absolom was special to David because he was his son. And because the Lord had already spoken to David regarding Absolom. That his own would sleep with his wives in public etc. So he knew that his son was fulfilling what the Lord had spoke about . So he knew that prophecy was being fulfilled and had he not have done what he(David) did this would not have happened. Forgot to add That David probably felt sorry for Absolom also. Because he himself(David) brought this about.

How all this relates to the church today? Do some of the leaders and members of the church operates in this spirit or let say, act like Absalom? When I say spirit, I identifying with the personality and character, but it may represent a spirit or demon that was in Absalom when he betrayed his father. His evil drive had to be motivated by an evil spiritor/and demon, like Saul.

The opening of the door.... which mean a entry... to the house. House many time represent our heart. By worshipping Jesus and calling on His Name, probably kept that demon on the outside, cause Jezebel would have force herself in.... This something to think about.... God don't give us dream for entertainment... It is one of His way of speaking to us.

i just pulled this off of myspace.
Absalom Spirit
THERE ARE BASICALLY 12 STAGES THAT INDIVIDUALS GO THROUGH WHEN THEY HAVE BECOME INFLUENCED BY THE ABSALOM SPIRIT OF REBELLION AND DISLOYALTY.
Ultimately, if not dealt with, the disloyalty that spreads through the congregation will bring a church split or the departure of many affected saints.
Here are the twelve stages:
1. AN INDEPENDENT SPIRIT – An attitude of independence emerges when the person no longer wants to serve the leadership but seeks recognition and a reputation.
2. SELF-PROMOTION – The person will maneuver for the praise of men. In II Samuel 15, Absalom stole the hearts of the people.
3. SPIRITUAL PRIDE – As people recognize and praise the deceived individual, he begins to believe that he is more spiritual than the leaders.
4. AN OFFENDED SPIRIT – The Absalom falls into an offended spirit because of spiritual pride. When his ideas and gifts are not promoted by the leadership as he believes they should be, he becomes highly offended. Often he will seek others that will agree with him in his offense.
5. A CRITICAL SPIRIT – Almost all the decisions of the leaders are questioned and undermined to the people. Sadly, with this critical spirit, the Absalom no longer can receive any spiritual feeding or direction from the leadership.
6. A COMPETITIVE SPIRIT – The Absalom sees himself in competition with the church leadership and begins to distort and misrepresent the decisions and directives the leaders are giving.
7. SOWING STRIFE AND DIVISION – The Absalom will take his offenses to many individuals in the church and spread his discontent through various means.
8. ACCUSING THE LEADERSHIP – The Absalom feeds his followers his critical spirit and faultfinding. Minor things, usually not related to God's spiritual qualifications, will be made major issues, such as what kind of car the pastor drives, how long he takes to receive the offerings, etc.
9. OPEN DISLOYALTY AND DIVISION – The Absalom feels that many are following him so he boldly brings his disloyalty out into the open. At this point the leaders become aware of his discontented splinter group. Now the people are forced to make a choice between the leaders of the church and the Absalom who has deceived them.
10. A BOLD CONSPIRACY – The Absalom justifies his conspiracy to everyone by focusing their attention on all the minor issues that he has found fault with in the leadership. (Usually, the Absalom does not have legitimate accusations such as the preaching of false doctrines or blatant sin on the part of the pastors.)
11. A CHURCH SPLIT – The Absalom leads a naive splinter group out to the birth of a new church or ministry. Declare a new vision.
12. GOD'S JUDGMENT ON THE REBELLIOUS CHURCH – The scripture tells us, "if the root be evil, the whole tree will be evil," and every church or ministry that is birthed by an Absalom spirit will be full of rebellion, disloyalty, and continual church splits.
