I've even seen a couple of men with both ears pierced. One has the smallest hoops. God Lord! It didn't bother me cause he wasn't feminine and I knew he wasn't gay. And he was very handsome anyway. Just gorgeous. So the earrings just added to the sexiness.

GAP: I feel the same way.... this may also be a result of what I believe are spiritual implications behind it as well as what I'm noticing (unfortunately) about many of the men that wear earrings. (and this isn't about perception but rather in discussions with many young men).
In a discussion with someone, they said something that I think made a lot of sense and you (general) may want to keep this in consideration. (this is for both earrings, pants, etc):
In a time by which the role of men and women are being blurred and there seems to be so much competition between men vs. women, many women are now not happy being women and many men aren't happy being men. I never thought that there'd be a time when women not only don't like skirts but don't even own one. Never did I think that men would start wearing clothing that is cut for women and begin to switch, etc. What has happened? Therefore, this is a good time for the church to stand up and say "It's okay to be a man if you're a man" or "It's okay to be a woman if you're a woman." And although we can (and should) say it with our speech, it's even better to be able to be an example and show men and women these things.
For me (Nikkol), I couldn't disagree with it.
Side Note: I'd love to know who was the first guy to start wearing earrings that enabled that to cross over into the church.... because the connotation of a man with an earring wasn't good.....
Side Note #2: And I've found that some people that I would've NEVER thought were gay (who had earrings) actually were.... being gay really has gone way beyond just those that are/look "feminine".

Nikkol, I can attest that I do know many men who have an earring, who are no where near being gay. And then there are the guys who are fruity as fruitloops.
You will find that in 2008, the guy who walks and talks like a man, works for IBM, with the corner office, wears the custom made tailor suit, driving his mercedes, BMW, or lexus, is the guy to steer clear from because he actually is an undercover gay guy.

I can agree in reference to not every man dealing with the struggle..... at the same time, there were some FINE looking brothers that I would've never thought at first.... but when I found out the news......talking about being devastated....but that's a different topic ALL together.... (and this isn't just men but women as well).

Hey y'all guess what, I thought that this earring thing was something new, like in the 90's or later, I really couldn't remember guys with earrings when I was out there (I spent the entire decade of the 80's in a backslidden state), but I guess there had to have been BECAUSE (now don't laugh) bu while I was faithfully watching my GOOD TIMES DVD the other day (lol!) the episode in which they're about to move, you know when James dies (Season 4, Episode 1, Sept. 1976), JJ comes in with one earring on and when someone calls him on it he says something like "Only one, only one, cause one is a sign of Macho, two is a sign of La Dee Da."
I was shocked cause I didn't think guys were wearing one earring that long ago!!!

A man with two earrings is sexy to me. Especially if he is wearing diamond studs. Nowadays the guy wearing one earring looks like the gay guy while the guy wearing two is the more manly .
I find men with earrings just as sexy as men without.
Now earrings in noses is just plain nasty to me .
Forgot to add that older women tend to not like the earring look so much. They say girls should be girls and boys should be boys lol

I remember guys were earrings back in the late 70's..as an older woman I will say I thought it look good to back then..but, there comes a time when a man must grow up and put away the things he did when he was 21. My son had his ear pierced when he was 12..and he made teh choice himself to pull the string out of his own. Approx..13 - 14 years later he got them pierces again..both of them !! Until my Dad told him look like a "gal ".. with two earrings on..and let one close..when men started expressing their interest in him !!

I don't really care for men with ear rings.... I did date a guy who wore a stud in one ear... Which back in the 80's I think the deal was that you had to wear it in the left ear... Because if it was in the right then it meant you were gay.
Then the gays started to wear them in both ears to make sure that people KNEW that they were gay! Now we have supposedly staright men thjat do the same... I'm not sure I think that's a good idea. I mean... why follow a fashion trend of men who are trying to make it clear that they aren't straight?
Either way... I wsa in high school when the guy I was dating had one ear ring. Back in the 80's it was th sign that you were a rebel and walked on the wild side! LOL I had to make sure he took the ear ring out every time he came inside my parents home. I never wanted my parents to see it... They probably would have questioned me dating him for sure.
