Oh.... I also understand the relationship you say he have /had with Obama.... I guess that why Obama show no emotion or thoughts about it.... I believe after he get in the White House, he will deal with it... and praise Jesse Jackson for all the work he had done.

Okay, I'm back with some random thoughts:
I don't see anything in these pictures that says "proud papa." The pictures just look like normal photo ops of a couple of politicians one in a conversation, the other walking and smiling at the photagrapher.
The thing that amazes and angers me is that all this speculation over whether or not this was done on purpose to help Obama by now having a reason to supposedly distance himself from Jesse Jackson has clouded the real issue:
that a 'man of God' (and here I use the term very loosely), a trailblazer of civil rights, and a once respected politician could stoop so low to make those ugly ignorant comments and his only defense is I didn't know the mics were on.
I also hate it when we (general) seem hesitant to speak out against black men in America when they do wrong, period. So what if they left the mics on on purpose to spy on him. So what if now that it's been said and done, Obama can use it to his advantage. We put all this other stuff in the way instead of, as my grandmother use to say, calling a spade a spade.
Okay, I'm done.

Oh let me do my disclaimer first fore someone comes behind me and accuses me of whatever it is they'll want to accuse me of. these are my comments my opinion just like everybody else has theirs. if they happen to be different than yours get over it and yourself and allow me to express myself like you express yourself! My comments are not directed at anybody else or a response to anybody else's comments. gee thanks! I think we as black people in particular need to be very leary of the MEDIA. They know how to play games with us and I have said it many times, we tend to play right into their hands. Have we not seen the games the media has played ever since Obama stepped into the presidential scene? ALL MEDIA ATTENTION has been spotlighted on HIM. Not Hilary, McCain or anybody else. They have pulled out everything they could think of and pointed the finger at Obama and then watched his reaction. Thank God he hasn't played into their hands like most of US do. Most of the time we don't even see we are being PLAYED by the media. Was he wrong for saying it? okay, yeah. He could have shut his mouth about what he disagreed with. But good grief. did we think the man doesn't use this kind of language? Did we think that he or anybody agrees with EVERYTHING Obama stands for? Are his comments any worse than what we would hear from ANYBODY who didn't know the mics were on? Let's get real! I don't think that we are not holding our people accountable. The Black community is more criticle of itself than we are on anybody else. No way are we letting anybody slide! All racist White america has to do is drop us a bone and we devour each other over the bone! In the end we've hurt each other and nobody even thought to get the bone. IT'S A DISTRACTION. They're hoping to hurt the Black Vote. They are SCARED TO DEATH that Black America is about to break an all time record at the poles. I just hope we make their fears a reality.

My pastor has told us a few times that he studied MASS MEDIA in college. Is anybody familiar with that? Most of what we get on the news in all forms is what they think we need to know. NOT THE TRUTH. Just their version of the truth given in a way that will cause the majority of people, or a CERTAIN GROUP of people to think and react the way "they" want us to think or react. We really need to pay more attention.
I hate to say it but it's true. We are not the enemy.....but we are our own worst enemy.
Oh and my disclaimer applies to this post too.

hey Guys, The truth is that this comment shouldn't be focused on that much... The bottom line is that there will be much more that will be said about Obama as time goes on... Just check out the cartoon made of Obama and his wife Michelle that made them out to be Muslim and terrorists... www.nydailynews.com/img/2008/07/14/amd_newyorker-cover.jpgKitty

wow. i had heard about that. That's trifling. But what I see in that is first of all White racist America has a problem with this Black man who openly shows affection to his wife. She's not standing around or behind him with a big fake plastic smile stuck to her face. She's actually behaving like a happy wife. It must be difficult for some people to see that. Like that hassebeck chick on the view, said that when he gave his wife a pat on the butt it was distracting. huh?

The problem is that African American women have made out to be crazy as loons and to see a woman who stands for more than baby mama drama and all the other ways we are portrayed is making some folk mad...and that cartoon was not nce..and the cartoonist tried to justify his prejudice actions with a crazy comment about it being politics..it should be expected.

Imho, what needs to be remembered at all times is that should he be elected, he will be the president of all of the american people.
I think, for what it's worth, that it will be a major turn taken for the United States, and how they are perceived, inside and abroad. We are standing at a very pivotal point of the history of this nation.....
Even though it is a different context, I cannot help but think about Nelson Mandela, and him becoming the leader of South Africa. What were the odds? But it happened.....
There is still a lot to learn, including about ourself, individually and as a nation, and it is important for us to be willing and not let the trees hide the forest.

They are pulling out all stops to assassinate Michelle Obama's character because she doesn't fit these images, but alludes class, elegance, intelligence and she makes us all look good. They are not ready for this type of Black woman. We really need to pray for Obama's marriage, because racist white America not only don't want a Black president, but they sure don't want a positive Black woman who supports and stands behind a strong Black man. Can't we just imagine the implications this holds for the Black family? Just my opinion...
