My pastor has really been preaching and reaching out to the youth the past few weeks. One of the things he has been saying to the parents is that we need to get with each of our children individually and make sure they are saved. Don't assume just because they are in church with you all the time that they are saved. Make sure they have accepted Jesus. Well I remember praying with both my girls to accept Jesus a couple of years ago.

Today my baby did something she shouldn't have done and so when we got home I was talking to her about it. At first it was an automatic spanking but when I asked her if she really understood why it was wrong she wasn't sure. Even though we have talked about it before. She was able to repeat back to me what I have told her about it but she couldn't explain it or explain why it is wrong. She just knew it was wrong because I told her it was. So we had anther talk about it until she understood why it was wrong.

Then I asked her if she remembered praying to accept Jesus, to be saved. She didn't remember. So I asked if she wanted to and she said yes. So I prayed with her and she prayed and cried, asking Jesus into her heart. I called my oldest in and asked her and she remembered and said she was still saved. I talked to them about praying and how God is going to be the one to help them with school and stuff. And we will be learning scriptures and praying together. No more assuming. Make sure these babies know the Lord. Let them tell you. I don't want to be one of those parents who gets blindsided because I assumed something just because I took my kids to church.

So when we get to church tonight my baby can tell her pastor that she prayed to be saved tonight, even before we got to church. That will really bless him!

Praise the Lord!!!! Please also teach your children about forgiveness and how God will forgive them and accept them over and over again....

The reason I mention that is because I was saved at 12 years old and I mean sold out at 12 years old....

However at 13, I wanted to wear pants and make up and of course I was told that I was no longer saved (but that's not the point)...... the point is not only did I begin to wear pants and make up, but i also started experimenting with drugs and alcohol and before I knew it I was out there.........

And the only reason I never really returned to Christ is because I didn't fully understand that God would accept me back even after I had fallen..... as a young girl I LOVED LOVED LOVED church... I would be the girl leaving the club at 5AM on a Sunday and getting ready for church by 9:00AM....

I loved the presence of God so much...but once I was saved it was never clearly explained to me what all that meant and how God would forgive us and have mercy on us....

I feel that teenagers really need to understand this as the whole teen age period is full of trials and errors anyway.....

LANL and Vin ...thanks for sharing that !! I have been thinking the same thing as of late.

My son was 16 yrs when he gave his heart to Lord...I knew then what I know now..taking them to church isn't enough. They must have their own encounter with the Lord !!

Tonight at our one hour prayer service that we have every Monday night a heavy anointing fell on our pastor and he began to anoint everybody's hands. He ministered specifically to many people also. After he had anointed my hands I noticed that there were no children in the line. hmmm. Sometimes people seem to think that some things aren't for the children? So I turned to my daughters and told them to go get in line and let the pastor anoint their hands too.

My oldest daughter was first and when he got to her he didn't just anoint her hands and move her through the line. THANK GOD FOR PASTORS WHO MINISTER TO THE LITTLE ONES JUST LIKE THEY DO THE BIG PEOPLE! He spoke to my daughter, had her repeat some things, (I wasn't standing with her) and I began to see her wave her hands and tear up. My baby worshipped God like she never had before. (she's 11)

Then my baby got to him with her hands lifted and as he touched her and anointed her she began to wave her hands and weep and worship God. Yawl know I was a happy mama. He came over to me and touched my head and said, "He heard you".

Because God knows that one of my desires is that not only my babies will experience the anointing and power of God as little children but I'm looking for the Holy Ghost to fall in that church and hit every child. I've seen it happen in my former church several times. There are times with the Holy Ghost will come in and only the children will get it. The adults wind up being the altar workers all over the church while every child is crying, laying in the floor, shouting, dancing and getting filled with the Holy Ghost. We have saved children and teens and we have several that are living saved and get their praise on. But I'm praying for that wave that comes in and floods our children. I thank God my babies got a dip in it tonight.

Thank God the the Holy Ghost because He knew God had something for my babies tonight. They've been anointed by the pastor before. But tonight was their night. Praise God!~
