A co-worker contacted Kelly Gerlach on the election staff at the Missouri Secretary of State Office who confirmed the information below is true. Voters can be turned away from entering the polling booth or asked to cover or conceal attire/accessories advocating any candidate.
For more information call 1-800-NOWVOTE (669-8683).
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE ADVISE EVERYONE YOU KNOW THAT THEY ABSOLUTELY CAN NOT GO TO THE POLLS WEARING ANY OBAMA SHIRTS, PINS OR HATS, IT IS AGAINST THE LAW AND WILL BE GROUNDS TO HAVE THE POLLING OFFICIALS TO TURN YOU AWAY.
THAT IS CONSIDERED CAMPAIGNING. NO ONE CAN CAMPAIGN CLOSE TO THE POLLS. THEY ARE BANKING ON US BEING EXCITED AND NOT BEING AWARE OF THIS LONG STANDING LAW THAT YOU CAN BET WILL BE ENFORCED THIS YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
TYPICALLY, MOST FOLKS WHO GO HOME TO CHANGE CLOTHES WILL NOT RETURN TO THE POLLS.
PLEASE SHARE THIS INFORMATION WITH ALL YOU KNOW.
WE MUST BE EXCEPTIONALLY AWARE, ACTIVE AND WISE IN THIS ELECTION.

www.elections.state.md.us/press_room/rumor_control.htmlCampaign Merchandise Rumor: If I wear a campaign button or t-shirt into the polling place, will I be allowed to vote? FACT: A voter may wear campaign paraphernalia (buttons, t-shirts, or stickers) into the polling place while he or she is there to vote (the voter may not linger in the polling place after voting). However, an election judge, challenger and watcher, or other person stationed inside the polling place or within 100 feet of the polling place may not wear or display campaign materials.
