LOL!
I think there are a lot of people who would agree with you about that even before, but especially since the parking lot ummmm....whatever it was, or turns out to be.
But I honestly do think that for the most part, the book was intelligently and thoughfully written and, imho, does actually have a considerable amount of wisdom to offer. I thought it "then" and (so and since nary a word of the book has changed) I still do.
And that's even though I haven't
yet decided whether or not Thomas Weeks should be pulled from "under the bus" where I helped to throw him the day I heard, complete with photos, witnesses and police reports that he allegedly beat his wife down in a hotel parking lot. (And yes, I can and do pray GOD's will toward him
and JB, even while I watch, and will no matter what.)
That's why I started this thread with those 2 particular quotes.
They reminded me that all True wisdom is from GOD and therefore invulnerable to the nature, behavior or even subject-to-change character of a vessel. And although "GOD'll use a donkey" has become a bit of a cliche, the truth in the words is probably why it has, with the lesson being in why GOD actually did.
Sometimes we know better than to do something, but do it anyway, and can find ourselves, often very publicly, eating our words of wisdom.
Other times we don't yet know any better than not to do a thing, but once, when, after we do it, we can find ourselves, often very publicly, getting some firsthand wisdom.
Whoever (or whatever) the vessel, however it/they came to have or speak, do or don't reap the benefits of it...Wisdom is Wisdom.
And "Wisdom is (still) the principal thing".
In the face of some highly respected, trusted and followed Christian leaders with crumbling marriages, and with (as you,
sis stillfocused, know all too painfully well as a prophetic intercessor) more of the same and other "falling" to come, I just wanted to get that said.
No babies need be thrown out, even with the dirtiest bathwater.
And with that said, I'm just hoping we can share some good quotes and words of Wisdom on marriage here.
(Btw,
anointed what translation were you using in your post?)
