Oh, and I heard that McCain had only met her once at some banquet and then chose her as his running mate after that one brief meeting. Was that a senior moment on his part or as old as he is, he's still lusting after women?

I am personally TIRED of Republicans using me and my moral and religious beliefs just to get into office. It happens every election from local to the presidency. They come out the gate with FAMILY VALUES, ABORTIONS, SAME SEX MARRIAGES, SEX EDUCATION, PARTIAL BIRTH ABORTION....and they say all the things that Christians want to hear. They claim to be Christians. They go to church, talk just enough about God to get us going. Then what do we do? WE "VOTE BIBLE". Has anyone else heard that term? I'm in the midwest so it comes up every election. "We know what we believe. We don't vote democrat or republican. We vote Bible. We vote for the one that has our same values." (Which means republican) So here we go all the little gullible Christians and go to the poles and VOTE BIBLE. Then after we get them into office they cut Medicaid. They take money out of our schools. They cut Social Security to the point that my mother had to choose many times between FOOD AND MEDICINE! My momma was one of millions of seniors who couldn't always buy both food and medicine. If it weren't for her children bringing her groceries sometimes what would she have eaten? And what about the seniors who don't have anyone bringing them anything. Those republicans PIMP Christians for our votes based on our morals and religious beliefs and then they screw over us every time. I'm tired of it. Have we not noticed that when the media begins to discuss which "vote" will win elections or turn the tables it is ALWAYS the BLACK VOTE, OR THE CHRISTIAN VOTE (Evangelical/bible belt) While we are tangled up on voting bible, thinking that it's going to keep certain things from becoming legal, all of those things are still becoming legal. The bottom line of all of this truly is, "what does the bible say?" Because no matter who gets elected president every prophecy in the Word of God is going to be fulfilled. The Word of God overrides republican or democrat. But I will say that Obama has my vote. Not just because he's black. People are so silly. But then again, look at how many white people won't vote for him simply because he's black. We'll never get around that. I like the things I've heard him say. I know that he's more liberal on issues that I morally disagree with but I'll take him over McCain any day. McCain is old, forgetful, has had cancer more than once, and has a dingbat running with him who, if he died, would be our president. THAT alone should send people to the poles to vote for Obama. I can only imagine out P'd off Hilary Clinton must be every time she sees or hears Sarah Palin. As much as she had to offer we still chose Obama for the democratic ticket and here we have the village idiot running for vice president! It's one of the stupidest things I've ever seen in my life. The woman is a JOKE. Thats why PRAYER should be the most important thing not the Biblio/Political issues... You could be anti gay marriage anti abortian and be a child molester or a rascist....

This is gonna be "piece mealed" based on timing and research. I know that one of the things that his plan will do is to create even more tax for those with capital gains. As one who is invested in the markets, having to pay more tax on something that is already heavily taxed wouldn't be something that I'd prefer. Simplify Tax Filings for Middle Class Americans: Obama and Biden will dramatically simplify tax filings so that millions of Americans will be able to do their taxes in less than five minutes. Obama and Biden will ensure that the IRS uses the information it already gets from banks and employers to give taxpayers the option of pre-filled tax forms to verify, sign and return. Experts estimate that the Obama-Biden proposal will save Americans up to 200 million total hours of work and aggravation and up to $2 billion in tax preparer fees. The reason doing taxes takes longer is because of things that can be "write offs", not really the employer information. Additionally, in the area that I'm in, many ppl go to the tax prep places not because of exemptions, perse but because you can get the money back faster..... And as a tax preparer, what this plan is going to do is possibly make me lose my job......

Nikkol, I can respect you for being able to openly state why Obama may not be the best person for you to be president. I have way more respect for you in that sense than people who try to pretend that Obama lacks creditablity.
But ultimately... I think I tend to be more of a realist... I'm still more those who are down and out. I don't like the idea of all of the out sourcing and squeezing the poor out of more money plus transfering the whole idea of welfare from those who really need it to the rich businesses... In fact I half way what I see this big bail out plan to be... I don't think it is ALL about mortages... There are some other hidden deals in there that people just aren't mentioning yet. Not to mention that those who have lost homes are in the process of being foreclosed on...are not yet being helped by the bailout... people's credit is still going to be less...
But I digress... I do understand that Obama's plan is going to focus on those in the US that aren't rich or wealthy. I don't have a problem with that considering that 90% of the US's wealth is only distributed among 10% of the US population... There is something truly unfair about that...
Nikkol... You aren't the only person who will be affected... My mother paid into SS all her life but she is unable to collect one dime of it. The reason??? She supposedly makes to much from her pension and other income she receives... But considering all the other people now that have lost their pensions... all the people that have been affected by Republicans allowing big businesses to dump their pension plans... thus SS being overstressed by people who no longer have other funds to retire on... She is more than OK with the fact that she paid into a system that will take care of those people...
This is a time when I think that you,,,maybe like her... Will focus on God and still be thankful. God still has you doing well... You are still blessed.

Is God Using the Economy to Judge the Nation's Sins World's Leading Evangelist Says, "Absolutely"
Contact: Krystal Collazo, WDC Media
FLORIDA, Oct. 10 /Christian Newswire/ I In the past year, the Dow Jones has seen a thirty-five percent decline, resulting in a $10 trillion dollar loss. The current economic meltdown is affecting the lives of tens of millions of Americans. Bill Keller, the world's leading internet evangelist, contends that God is using the economy to judge this nation for its sins. On May 2, 2008, Keller - founder of Liveprayer.com - told his 2.4 million daily devotional subscribers that God would use the economy as a form of judgment on the nation for its sins. And God did just that (video ref: www.youtube.com/watch?v=tc71qfmRv9I) Keller claims that there are no man-made solutions to the economic problem because, at its core, the crisis is really a spiritual issue. This is why, Keller explains, the $700 billion rescue effort has not helped, nor, he says, will it ever help; the Federal Reserve buying unsecured corporate paper has not helped; the cutting of prime by half a point has not helped, nor have any of the other attempts by the leading economists in the nation to resolve the economic crisis we are currently struggling with helped. "Sadly, people don't understand that the only answer is to turn back to God and biblical truths," says Keller. "This nation was once greatly blessed by God, but today we legally slaughter over four thousand innocent babies each day, we have made a mockery of God's holy institution of marriage, we worship every idol and false god man has ever created, and we live in total rebellion to God and his truth." "God is a God of love, grace, and mercy, but he is also a God of judgment," Keller continues. "We spit in the face of God every day, and now we're simply reaping what we've sown." "Many will dismiss the notion of God's judgment as the foolish talk of yet another religious kook," Keller goes on. "However, the Bible does say in 2 Corinthians 2:14, But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned." "The fact is, all of humankind's wisdom has been unable to resolve this economic crisis because the answer isn't a natural one...it is a spiritual one," explains Keller. "Unless this nation gets on its face before God, asks his forgiveness, and turns from its sins, I'm afraid we’ve only just begun to experience the wrath of God."

And I believe GOD is truly exhorting, empowering and enabling me/us to do both at this time. Yes HE IS. Honestly, God has been resounding the words get out of debt, since 2004 for my household. It is 2008 and I am ALMOST over the debt hill. God's timing is so perfect. I was apart of this same conversation in a board meeting today. Individuals/organizations are stressing over the state funded programs that may be cut. (Which many do work for). We are talking about millions of dollars in Budget cuts in education and health alone. And right there in the room, it clicked. We (my family) have been getting out of debt, for this exact season. Not to get rich, not to obtain more, but for this financial crunch that the world is, and about to experience
