I don't disagree that operating in the office of the prophet is a different level of responsibility. That wasn't the "difference" that I was indicating.

Also, just for clarity, your belief is that a person that doesn't operate in the office of a prophet can't prophesy things that aren't in the near future?

Nope never said that. The very nature of things prophetic is the speaking forth of things that have YET to be revealed.

What I am saying is that while the nature of prophesy remains the same ( which is the Spirit of GOD ) the depth. scope and dimension of what will be spoken and revealed will be greater through someone called to the Office of a Prophet than someone that has a grace gift of prophesy or even a minister who has a prophetic anointing..

Simply put.. its the specialty that the Holy Spirit has placed on that ministry gift..

Does that make them BETTER than someone else.. no..

The Evangelist has a greater call on their life to bring folks to the kngdom.. The prophet can do the same thing but the ANOINTING to do do so will rest MUCH more Heavily on the the Evangelist...

The Pastor's gift is usually the training and nuturing off the sheep.. Can an Evangelist nurture.. of course... can they train.. sure.. but the ANOINTING to do so is GREATER on the Pastor..

The teacher can expound on the Word of GOD.. All fivefold ministry gifts can do so.. Believers can teach each other.. but TEACHERS have the anointing from the Holy Spirit to reveal truths that are hidden sometimes in plain sight from others....

You ever read a scripture.. and then hear someone teach on it and you go... WOW Ive read that a hundred times but NEVER saw it the way THEY broke it down like that... Thats because they have an ANOINTING from GOD to break things down on that level..

Now back to the prophetic.. I use those examples because you need to look at the lives of those men.. the way they walked. The way they lived... AND the things GOD revealed to them...

1 In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the LORD sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.

2Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly.

3 And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.

4 And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke.

5 Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.

6 Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar:

7 And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged.

8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.

Simply put.. not everyone will see the Lord lifted up.. and see seraphims.. not everyone will be a Daniel who will converse with angels.. not everyone will be a Paul and be caught up into heaven and have the Lord speak with them.. Not everyone will have the PHSYICAL embodiment of the ressurrected SAVIOR speak to them of the end times...

Everyone doesnt function in the body the same way or at the same scope...

As we study the word, my question has been using what we know of the Word of God, was this meant to exhort, edify or comfort? I thought that that has been the point I was trying to make....if that got lost in the shuffle, for that I apologize. Now regarding the other examples you gave, I can understand those and I tried to make sure in any response I understood why I understood that....and always came back to based on what you're saying, how does this relate? Or if it's just that it doesn't?

I do have an understanding of those operating in the office of a prophet vs those who have been annointed at a given time to speak a prophetic word....this being to a person/church/nation/etc. But even that wasn't the purpose/point of my question. And so when you kept giving examples of those who prophesied (which there was no argument with me regarding any of those) it still left, for me, my main question unanswered.

Did I not ask the question correctly? In other words, how could I've asked the question regarding if this prophecy was meant to exhort, edify or comfort? I couldn't see it and so I asked if anyone else saw what I didn't? Which of course is possible since we're all part of the body of Christ and none of us know everything.

Nikkol.. again.. the answer is really right in front of you...

Ask the Lord.. If its is truly HIS WORD then HE is the best one to explain to you what HIS will was...

Thats one thing I always tell people.. Take the Word to the Lord in prayer if you have questions..

I may be wrong but I think your question goes beyond just that..

No disagreements here. That's why I think that maybe the way I'm reading what you say is different than what you're saying and vice versa....

I know....but neither is talking face to face....LOL. Because you'd respond and I'd be like "yup, that's true". LOL.

The good thing is that since we kinda know each other we didn't start name calling etc.... I always HATE when those things happen.

Either way, I'll keep looking into this....while at the same time remembering that everything isn't always for me either.

Disclaimer: I know NOTHING about Kim Clement. Today was the first day I read anything from/about him. So this wasn't a "knock down Kim Clement" thing..

That was not my sense at all..

My sense is that you have questions about things prophetic...

However my sense is also that you are looking for some specific guidelines to all things prophetic...

Kind of a..

If this is A then that should mean B and its B it will lead to C kinda thing..

And the reality is that its not always like that.. there are some guidelines to be sure... And God has safety measures built in..

But then GOD also does things outside of the box people often place Him in...

Its like He picks certain times to say..

IM GOD and you cant pgeonhole me..

I remember hearing a man of GOD talk about why the angels keep going around the throne praising GOD..

He said what happens is when they go around the throne and they get back to the front they see a dimension of GOD they never saw before and start praising Him all over again..

Thats been going on for EONS...

Thats how infinite He is...

AND then HE tells us.. My ways aint yours.. My thoughts aint yours.. lol.. and we STILL try and figure everything out... LOL,,

I will say that I'm very very careful when it comes to the prophetic. Part may be since I am part of a "prophetic ministry" and also being married to someone that operates in the prophetic.

Therefore I'll ask more questions .....because when all is said and done, the foundation is still the Word of God.

And at the same time remembering, as us said, that his ways and thoughts are higher than ours
