The community and surrounding communities have been in a state of poverty for a long time. The forest industry has been there for generations but the economy has gone in the tank and there is nothing.
I am interested in looking at community economic development and all of the mapping that is needed.
I am wondering what your communities do for community economic development. I think of Korea who have no resources yet they have one of the most vibrant countries economically.
I am open to any suggestions. Thank you

that is a hard one.
I personally believe that key to community economic development is through the means of bringing businesses into the communities, so that jobs can be made readily available. I'm not referring to high-demand, low paying jobs, but jobs that actually help to revitalize neighborhoods.
Like most US poverty stricken communities, there are no opportunities or access for employment, inside the communities, therefore individuals travel outside to work. This does not bring money into the community, because if they are working outside of the community, then they also shop outside of the community.
Korea economy thrives off of global and world trade investments..
