The first thing that stands out to me is the HORRIBLE job Tina Marie did on her song. I think it was His Eye is on the Sparrow. She jacked it up so bad it was almost unrecognizable.
Kirk Franklin had on tight pants and was doing James Brown moves. His song was okay until he said something about "the crack of your behind". I pretty sure those were the words.
Everybody else did what they do.
As always my boy Donnie had'em on their feet both times. He did the first song and the last.
My nephew has a friend who was there she told him that Steve Harvey CLOWNED. She said the reason they keep bringing Steve back is because he's funny (there are Christian comedians who are also funny) and because he does a good job of keeping the crowd entertained during the breaks. Well this time she said during the end of the show just before Donnie and Karen Clark Sheard closed the show, that Steve was doing what he does, telling jokes. But as always he began to go overboard. He began to talk about people in the audience. You know how comedians do when they start to run out of material. They start picking on people. So this is what Steve did. The whole while Donnie and Karen were on stage behind him because they were next.
Steve was out of line in some of the stuff he was saying about people and then he turned to Donnie, like, "ain't that right?" And Donnie kept a straight face and said, "Don't talk to me". (obviously Steve had gone way overboard because he and Donnie have been friends) So Steve says, "Don't talk to you!" And then begins to talk about Donnie. So Donnie says, "You better be glad I'm anointed". And Steve went off some more.
Well as taping progressed, Steve was supposed to have some dialogue with Donnie but refused. The producers were trying to get him to do his job but he kept saying, "He told me not to talk to him so I'm not talking to him". I did notice the end of the show that Steve was VERY reserved and just introduced Donnie and Karen. He showed a little tension. After they sang the show went off with no more from Steve.
The other day on his show Shirley brought up the show and told him he did a good job and all he did was mumble, "yeah". And changed the subject. So he was clowning.
I wonder if this will be enough for them to stop using him. I don't think he's under any contract for a certain number of years with them. Saved folks like a good laugh but we do draw the line when you start talking about people too much.
