Of course. I'm not just gonna jump into anything. I haven't even gone to the website yet. My physical is tomorrow and I'm going to talk to my doctor about it.
And then tonight at prayer service I was thinking about my weight a lot and how that I'm not sure how long I will be able to hold off some things, healthwise. But I'm not going to take a gamble with my health or my life. And I was thinking that if I had to eat those Subway sandwiches I'll do it!
But then my pastor said that the Lord is going to help those of us who are having real struggles in some areas. In areas we are having a hard time getting victory in. I really need His help.

It doesn't look like it but I'm about 100 pounds heavier than I need to be.
Plus I'm hypothyroid. That along with slower metabolism due to age is just like a double or triple battle.

Don't do it. I considered it. I thought about it long and hard. I decided that I would rather put that much energy into exercising and eating right, like I started 2 years ago. I fell off the wagon..but I am determined. For the first six weeks, of lap band surgery...your eating pureed food, and for the next portion of your life, your eating small quantities, and giving up certain foods. We can all do that now, if we put our minds to it, without the need for surgery. One of my husband's co-worker, just dropped 50 pounds. He had to eat specific foods, he stuck with it, and 50 pds gone. As soon As I get the specific foods, I will post it here. and then I am going on my weight loss journey. I am already doing my Back to Natural Hair journey, and so far thats going well. I'm so happy to be nappy!! ..I love it. No more perms ever!

I'm glad that you double and triple checked, Vin...
As one who used to be a black belt in weight yo-yo-ing, I found that when I finally decided to do it for the right reason - to be healthy - not for looks or anything like that, but because I needed to be back to feeling right "in my skin" to be fully functional and rid of all the extra unneeded concerns, then I was able to stick with the plan and to get better results, faster, and to keep the weight off too.
I am always excited when others start on the weight loss journey, as Jasmine calls it, and it is a journey, really.
I hope you keep giving "reports" about how it goes, what you find out along the way, blog about it (?) and know that I am cheering for you as you go and melt the pounds away!

I told my doctor about it and he set up an appointment for me to talk to the Weighloss Surgical Center. I'm not fat enough. My BMI is not quite high enough and I don't have any weight related illness. Praise God it isn't as bad as it could be. I'm better off than I thought. She did recommend a different Endocrynologist who I will be calling. And she referred me to the Metobolic Research Center. They teach you when to eat what foods for maximum metabolism. She said that when they took my thyroid, it caused another gland that worked with it to begin to shut down. So changing when I eat will give me the boost I need in my metabolism.
So here I go. Plus I'm going back Monday for another visit to make sure my heart is okay. I've been feeling some stuff lately. My friend had a scare that turned out to be a massive miracle. She's been having chest pains for over a month. She got it checked yesterday adn it turned out she had 99 percent blockage in one of the arteries to her heart. Her arterie was holding on by a thread. The doctor told her she could have had a massive heart attack at any time... even in her sleep. GOD IS GOOD.
So when my doctors office called me this morning to tell me all my bloodwork was normal I told her about what I've been feeling and we made an appointment for Monday.
