I have experienced the most amazing thing since the release of my book and even just before.
Shortly after I testified to my church that the Lord had provided the money for me to pay for my publishing, one of the brothers made his way to me during our "fellowship time". We'd never had a conversation before then. I saw him making his way toward me and when he hugged me he said into my ear, "I write poetry too".
"Are you serious?" "Yeah." We talked a little after service and he told me that he'd only written a handful but he has them. I told him that I know they're the bomb and when I have a poetry reading book release party I want him to read some of his stuff.
That was just the beginning. Since then several people in my church have come to me and told me that they have been wanting to write their story. They have started writing. Or they have written poems or books and want to know how to go about getting publsihed. Some people have told me about their children's poetry. Another young lady wrote me and said she writes children's books and wants to get published. It's amazing you guys.
About two weeks ago my pastor read Surrender on a Sunday morning because he said it blessed him. This past Sunday he read a portion of The Release to the church. He said it blessed him and he wanted to share. Then he told the church to be sure and get the book. Buy it as a gift or for Valentine's Day. When he mentions the book my church applauds and many of them stand and clap. The support you get from a good local church is amazing.
Last night at prayer service (I promise I'm going somewhere with this!) as we were going around embracing each other and encouraging each other the Elder who was conducting the prayer service embraced me and told me that he was very inspired by me. He said that he was so proud of me and that since I've released my book it has encouraged him and inspired him again to write his book. wow! I thanked him of course and thank God.
Tonight when my pastor was up before he introduced our speaker he mentioned my book again and said that he keeps it with him (he's not sharing with his wife I see.
I'll give her a hardcover) He said that he doesn't have time to just sit and read but he takes it with him everywhere just in case he has a little down time, and when he does, he pulls out my book and reads as much as he can. Then he said he's right behind me in getting his book out.
The elder who spoke tonight said that he can't get my book now (circumstance) but he said he wishes he could by a thousand of them and just give them out because he knows there's a blessing in the book.
Another brother recently saved told me a few months ago that he started writing his story and he wanted me to help him with it.
Another brother asked me tonight how I wrote my book and told me that he's ready to write his life story because like the other brother he's been through a whole lot.
Whenever my pastor talks about me and my book he says I'm a national publisher. You guys, I'm not a national publisher. I'm nationally published. But the sister sitting next to me said, "Let him keep saying it. Don't correct him. He's speaking to your future". Watch out! So I won't correct him. I let the mouth of the prophet keep speaking that thang.
So why did I share all this and in this? Not to brag or boast. But to encourage every one of you. LIVE YOUR DREAM! The people who are talking to me now about writing their books and who are asking me for advice or direction are people who have always been there but we've never really had conversations. It just never happened. BUT LOOK AT ALL THE DREAMS THAT ARE BEING REJUVENATED simply because I let God bring mine to fruition.
What's my real point? THERE ARE PEOPLE ALL AROUND YOU WHOSE DREAMS ARE REALLY DEPENDENT ON YOURS. THERE ARE PEOPLE ALL AROUND YOU WHO JUST NEED SOMEONE TO SHOW THEM THE WAY TO SEEING THEIR DREAM FULFILLED. YOU MAY STILL BE WORKING ON YOUR BOOK AND THEIRS MAY BE FINISHED ALREADY. BUT THEIRS IS CONTINGENT UPON YOURS.
DON'T SIT ON YOUR DREAM. IF YOU'RE DISCOURAGED YOU MAY NEED SOMEONE TO COME ALONG AND REVIVE YOU.....THEN YOU CAN REVIVE AND INSPIRE MANY OTHERS.
THOSE OF US WHO ARE LEADERS ARE CARRYING MANY WITH US EVERYWHERE WE GO. THEY ADMIRE US FROM A DISTANCE AND SOMETIMES NEVER SAY ANYTHING TO US. THEY WATCH US, HOW WE INTERACT, HOW WE DRESS, HOW WE TREAT PEOPLE. THEY PAY ATTENTION AND KNOW WHEN WE'RE HEAVY HEARTED. THEY LOOK FOR OUR SMILE AND ARE ENCOURAGED WHENEVER THEY HEAR US SING OR SPEAK, OR JUST WHENEVER WE SHOW UP. THEY MAY NEVER TELL YOU OR THEY MAY ONLY TELL YOU ONCE. BUT BELIEVE ME WHEN I TELL YOU THAT YOUR DREAM MEANS THE WORLD TO MORE THAN JUST YOU. SO PLEASE BE ENCOURAGED. ENCOURAGE YOURSELF. RECEIVE SOME FROM ME OR FROM SOMEONE YOU ADMIRE. AND THEN LET GOD USE YOU TO ENCOURAGE SO MANY WHO ADMIRE YOU.
