Would anyone care to join me in a study on the book of Ruth? I have a heart and burden for singles - especially being one myself. I believe there is much more to singleness than what we are given, taught and partake of in singles ministries and singles' conferences. It grieves me that at any given moment and at the drop of a dime, we here that "Boaz" is our future husband and therefore we need to live our lives as Ruth lived hers.
Ahhhh, but this bothers me to the nth degree. How can we minimize such a beautiful book of the bible to one of "How To Catch A Man", "How to Meet Your Boaz" yada yada yada. The Book of Ruth is truly so rich and much can be "gleaned" from it. It is truly a book on romance - the romance of redemption, a shadow of what God has done for us through His Son Jesus Christ.
So whether it be 1 or 100, would anyone care to join me on such a journey? I would like this to be an "orderly" study in which I will post a schedule of sorts and we go through the entire book based on that schedule. I will post the schedule soon and we will truly feed off of what the Word has to offer.
Any takers?

Sounds like a good idea..... especially because no woman should EVER look for a "Boaz". ;D Look forward to the discussion. Added: I'm sorry. This was in the singles section...didn't know that part.

we can move it...i added it here because I wanted to make the point that the Book of Ruth isn't all about finding a husband.
Moving it to the Bible Study Section now.

I also find it interesting that technically Ruth was not a single. She was a widow who had been going at i for about 10 years before her hubby packed it in so how on earth all singles identify with her is beyond me.
Besides she also had a very nice mother in law which is rarely the case with most.
For me the book of ruth is the story of redemption-nothing to do with singleness. We all know how scared any man will get if u go lay down at the threshold of his apartment all night.
Just being real.
