DNC Ridicules GOP For Number-Free Budget (UPDATED)
UPDATE 4:15PM ET: Now the White House is officially getting in on the near-universal mockery of the GOP budget proposal released Thursday.
In an interview on Bloomberg TV (no link yet), White House budget director Peter Orszag called it the "first budget that doesn't have any numbers in it," and charged that Republicans have gone from "the party of 'no' to the party of 'no detail.'"
The DNC just released a pretty brutal -- not to mention funny -- video mocking the Republican leadership in the House of Representatives for releasing a budget with no numbers in it.
Titled, "The Number Zero, Brought To You By The Party Of N-O," the web ad, while not really advertising much, underscores just how bad the GOP's budget alternative rollout was on Thursday. The footage of conservatives like Ed Rollins and Joe Scarborough -- as well as a somewhat-befuddled looking Rep. Mike Pence (R-Ind.) -- drive home the point: the House GOP did themselves no favors in their attempt to put policy to paper.
And if reports from the Hill are to be believed, the GOP itself is internally at odds over the rushed and unsuccessful process.

Here is the actual proposal for review: Road to Recovery ProposalI will be reviewing it as well and bringing out points as time allows. I see why the Republican are being mocked.... No real solution, they just critize the President Budget... but they don't have real budget for themselves.... Do they know what a budget it... A budget consist of dollars $$$$, precentage %%% and some are compared to previous year spending along with detailed explaination and real solutions. If comparing to the Pres. Budget.... They should have outline his budget with dollars$$$ and %and than Outline their with dollar$$$ and % alternative with detailed explanation and realistic solution, side by side... and don't try to mislead the public with lies about the Pres. budget. They critism of the President's Budget are mssleading... like univeral health care... It help small businesses, the unemployed, children, and those who can affort health insurance. Many companies do not have health insurance for their employees and many family with children are unsecured. Their definition of reform health care will cut out those who really need it... They lied with their diagram of the deficit.... They did not include the trillion dollar spend on two wars. They want a tax cut for those who making $100,000 or more... They never explain wasteful programs.... And they talk about creating jobs, but didn't explain how.... what are the steps and money $$$ to produce jobs? They forgot Bush left the mess for Pres. Obama to clean up!

Rep. Paul Ryan Concedes GOP Alternative Budget Would Increase The Deficit ‘A Lot’ thinkprogress.org/2009/03/30/ryan-gop-budget/Last week, the House GOP presented its alternative budget proposal. Members of the media, including conservative commentators, widely panned the document for being scant on details and appearing more as “campaign-style talking points.” Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI), ranking member of the House Budget Committee, has said he will release yet another budget proposal, but this time with more specifics.
Though Ryan has been most critical of the deficit impact of Obama’s budget, he has been unable to assess the deficit impact of his own budget. After being repeatedly asked this weekend by Bloomberg’s Al Hunt about “how large” the deficit would be under the Republican plan, Ryan finally respond, “A lot”:
HUNT: But the Obama budget deficit is $1.4 trillion. How, roughly, how large will yours be?
RYAN: Their budget deficit is $1.8 trillion. […]
HUNT: Gimme an idea of how large yours will be?
RYAN: A lot. Let’s put it that way.
HUNT: Pardon me?
RYAN: Now I can’t give you the specific numbers because we’re still waiting for some numbers back from CBO. But clearly we don’t want to have this kind of run up of deficits and debt.
As ThinkProgress previously noted, Rep. Mike Pence (R-IN) also stumbled and refused to offer a number when questioned by MSNBC about the deficit under the GOP plan.
Citizens for Tax Justice analyzed the income tax provisions of the GOP alternative budget and concluded that they would cost $300 billion more annually than the President’s income tax plans.
Ryan’s refusal to provide a deficit number only reinforces the statement made by OMB Director Peter Orszag that Republicans have gone from “the party of ‘no’ to the party of ‘no detail.’”
UpdateThe Wonk Room’s Pat Garofalo notes that Ryan was also asked about the deficit impact of the House GOP budget on C-Span by Politco’s Patrick O’Connor. Ryan again dodged the question.

Nikkol, I would like to see the points that you are able to bring out as time allows you. I currently at this moment don't have time to go and review the link. But I would lie to see your opinion of it.
I do respect your views as an individual although we regularly butt heads about the whole dem verse rep deal.
Right now I would like to know what you think... especially because I'm not quite sure how to view many republicans who have made statements that they want the president to fail... which I don't quite understand.
