Featuring “Divorced Preachers behind the Pulpit”
There isn’t a lot of talk of Satan, and his spirit anymore in the Church… Do you agree? Perhaps because “it’s not cool or popular” or “it’s not appealing” or “it’s a mere whimsical story.” I heard a Preacher of the Gospel make this statement; “If we just love the people, they will change and we will win them over to God.” Lol. I have few things to say about that! It’s just like saying; “I’m just going to love and hug my kids and tell them wonderful things and let them do whatever the hell they want and tell them God is love and squeeze them tight and never tell or teach them right from wrong and or the consequences. Hell is a real place and as God always says to me; “Elisa, there a lot of good intended people in hell.”
Jesus
Jesus was a hard Teacher, so hard that many of his followers left him because of it. They couldn’t handle his message. He was a straight shooter. He didn’t sugar coat anything! Now a days I can boldly and honestly tell you that what preachers are preaching is not the Gospel of Jesus Christ and it breaks my heart by how they are deceiving and stealing from the people. The new generation coming forth, I can honestly tell you that they don’t even know what the “anointing” is! Can you believe that?! Ask a young person. Now a days, the Church doesn’t teach on the Holy Spirit, the infilling, much less, pray in tongues before the flock. It’s a mess.
2 Cor. 11:13-15
This morning, I woke up in thought of this very verse; “For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.” 2 Cor. 11:13-15.
I want to point out that Paul was warning the Church about false apostles as he was talking to the Church (not the world) but to the Church about Preachers who were being “deceitful” and because of this, their ministers (those under them) were also being transformed into such ministers. The bible says that “we” are all ministers. If you are born again, you are a minister as your life should represent what you call yourself.
I truly believe that this is where the body of Christ is today; Many are deceivers and manipulators preaching a Gospel to fit them and glorify them etc. Many tell me and may say; You are being too hard and are being judgmental! Well if your thoughts are as such, then you don’t know the truth. The fact of the matter is that, when one is notfilled with the Holy Ghost and a tongue praying talker, yes, I can see how one can be easily deceived by these false Teachers. And I don’t know about you, but I love the truth.
My spirit is flowing as I’m typing and sharing with you…
I have so many say to me and make this statement; “Yes, so and so Preacher, fell and sinned, but you know they are just human too.” Wow. To be honest with you I’m so tired of hearing that excuse. Really. For instance say; “there was a Father and he had two children, one was 19 years old, and the other 5. And one day their house burned down to the ground, because the 19 year was playing with matches and decided to throw the match on the ground, and it caught and the fire got out of control and the house was burned down. And he looks at his father and says; I didn’t mean to do it, I don’t know what happened. Lol. Take the 5 year old and he is playing with matches and strikes one match and his little finger burns and drops the match on the ground and it catches on fire.” Do you see my point? God holds us responsible for our actions based upon our maturity in Him. Truly Preachers know better. And Yeah, duh we are all human! But those who know better and still go for it and sin and fulfill the lust of the flesh, well then GOD will take you to the woodshed and whip your bottom, we don’t know when, or how but rest assure your belting or paddling is coming. He is a righteous Father.
Nowhere am I applying that I’m perfect because I have made some mistakes as well… I’m divorced and so I know what it takes to be a Pastor and go through a divorce. But I am also familiar with the teachings on divorce. My husband left me, he was having an affair. I was involved in full time in Ministry, but he was not. We were unequally yoked.
At that time he wanted nothing to do with God, and God caused him to issue me divorce papers. Did it hurt my ministry? Yes. Even though he divorced me, I still had to take full responsibility for the Divorce.
One thing I learned about when a Preacher goes through a divorce is a number of things: (to name a few)
1. He or she is not spiritually (and emotionally) healthy to
teach a balanced Gospel.
2. He or she can’t teach on marriage, because theirs failed.
3. They can’t fully teach on family because they were a part
of tearing theirs up.
4. They can’t pray over marriages, because they aren’t
even willing to fix their own marriage or it’s just not
repairable because the other half doesn't want to
anymore, we can’t force someone to stay with us. Amen.
So speaking by personal experience, I made the choice and sat down from the pulpit. I took full responsibility and suffered the loss of my mistake of my marriage. And you know, even if preachers (that are going through a divorce and are still behind the pulpit) are preaching about marriage and all that, I can honestly tell you that noone really believes them anyway, because they couldn’t hold on to theirs, ok...let’s just be truthful and honest here. So in that light, I sat down from behind the pulpit for a number of years.
I love God’s people! I do. I love “them”, and not for what they can do for me, I knew that I needed to protect them because of my mistake. I was alone with God for that amount of time and it was beautiful. Many don’t want to sit down for a number of reasons and I can name hundreds but I’m not going to… Because I too, when through that loss. But God has made me the Righteous Teacher that I am today, because of the sacrifices that I chose to make for my mistake. Was I forgiven? Certainly. But a good Woman or Man of God, takes full responsibility for their actions. It is time, don’t you agree? It is time for Preachers to take full responsibility and apologize to the God’s children, I mean hello… everybody knows, but it takes an adult to apologies for ones mistake. It is time for the body of Christ to grow up and live according to God’s standards. It is time for the body of Christ to be holy, for real. It is time, for all this nonsense to stop and its starts with the body of Christ not supporting “the worlds lust and low standards” that’s in the Church, blocking Gods spirit from moving! Amen.
