I am so upset at the death of Michael Jackson, I just screamed and cried all yesterday.....my mom called and sad she actually had to go to bed....because she was a fan of MJ and so were her children....
During the Victory Tour days, I was 10 years old and that show was on a Sunday night in Memphis and my mom refused to let me go....my cousins got me out the house and took me to that concert.... I Loved Michael Jackson for real.........
I will never forget that concert....
Also when I was a little girl Michael Jackson was visiting a mall in Memphis and the crowd was so out of control that he had to escape form the roof top of Woolworth's............(so yall know that i am over 35 to remember a Woolworths)..... any way my mom took us to that mall to see the Jackson 5.....
I say all of that to say............even though MJ was and R & B singer and my family were strict Pentecostal they never mind us listening to the Jackson's music......there was something pure and innocent about the music of MJ and the Jackson 5....
The music of Michael Jackson will live on forever............

I found it interesting as I watched the footage last night that in one of his later interviews he said that the song below is "my most honest, autobiographical song, ever".
HAVE YOU SEEN MY CHILDHOOD
Written and Composed by Michael Jackson. Produced by Michael Jackson.
Have you seen my Childhood? I'm searching for the world that I come from 'Cause I've been looking around In the lost and found of my heart... No one understands me They view it as such strange eccentricities... 'Cause I keep kidding around Like a child, but pardon me...
People say I'm not okay 'Cause I love such elementary things... It's been my fate to compensate, for the Childhood I've never known...
Have you seen my Childhood? I'm searching for that wonder in my youth Like pirates in adventurous dreams, Of conquest and kings on the throne...
Before you judge me, try hard to love me, Look within your heart then ask, Have you seen my Childhood?
People say I'm strange that way 'Cause I love such elementary things, It's been my fate to compensate, for the Childhood (Childhood) I've never known...
Have you seen my Childhood? I'm searching for that wonder in my youth Like fantastical stories to share But the dreams I would dare, watch me fly...
Before you judge me, try hard to love me. The painful youth I've had
Have you seen my Childhood....

Random thoughts: It called unforgiveness and hatred, which is not apart of the Christian faith... It probably came from white SBC Republican Christian board... forgive me if I am wrong (that last sentence could be viewed as hateful itself) I just screamed and cried all yesterday..... (did you for real? i mean i'm saddened by his death, but i was saddened by parts of his life, too.) (now nikkol, i know you're not THAT young....are you? the cvs at 12th and market was the largest woolworths for years in philly ... smiling) For the last 30 years, on my bedroom/office wall hangs many things to remind me of my life and make me smile. I STILL have the first 45 I ever owned. I was 11 or 12 and I played it over and over and over. It's hanging on my office wall, has been for many years. SIDE A - GOT TO BE THERE SIDE B - MARIA
I don't use a mouse pad, but I saved one. It's a black and white of Michael Jackson from the ROCK WITH YOU era. He was so cute back then!!!! That's also hanging on my wall.
My children were born waaaay after the "Jackson 5" but they grew up every Christmas listening to the JACKSON 5 CHRISTMAS ALBUM. Their favorite: I SAW MOMMY KISSIN SANTA CLAUSE. (errr, no they never did-lol)
So, I would say THANKS FOR THE EARLY YEARS....THEY WERE YOUR BEST....

Yeah, I cried too. I was on the phone with my sister and just starting bawling. I had to get off the phone.
When we were young - we used to get up early on Saturday mornings and clean our room (do kids still do that? I know mine doesn't) to Jackson 5 45's playing in the background. So the smell of Lysol along with the sounds of my first husband and his four brothers singing, "I Want You Back", "I'll Be There" and "I Wanna Be Where You Are" (and so many more) hold dear childhood memories for me.
Yes, Michael was my first husband when I was 6! That was before I discovered that Randy was closer to my age and in my young mind, far cuter than Michael. LOL
I think along with Michael's passing a lot of us also see a piece of our childhoods gone. We mourn not just Michael but also a time of innocence in our own lives that is now gone. I know I do.
So many Michael and J5 memories and stories.....
Life is fleeting and he made mine just a little bit richer and sweeter.
For that I'm grateful.
Rest In Peace, Michael.

So, I would say THANKS FOR THE EARLY YEARS....THEY WERE YOUR BEST.... Now GAP, if you read my entire post you will see that my childhood years were filled with many memories of Michael Jackson, and no I didn't elaborate that at every family function the children would all get together and do a rendition of a Jackson 5 or Michael Jackson song for entertainment...... YBrown I too was talking to my sister when the tears just started to roll and they continued to roll as my brother called with memories and so did my Hard legged thugged out cousin called with memories of MJ and our childhood..... Also, I mentioned that there was something very innocent and pure about MJ's music....and for the most part it seems to be the consensus that the passing of MJ has also taken away some of your childhood.... I too spent Saturday morning watching the Jackson 5 cartoons, by the time I came along they were running re-runs but nonetheless I enjoyed those mornings and have very fond memories of Michael Jackson...

MJ Gone...
Wow... There are no words....
I too felt like just another piece of my childhood is gone... He will never be replaced... Usher and Justin can't fill his shoes and I agree... His music has a level of innocency that was just refreshing!
And the Music videos! Man he set that trend off with a blazing start! Gosh I still don't think there is a video that comes even close to thriller and beat it!
Sadness... I feel such deep sadness for him... I do feel as if he never had a chance to enjoy his childhood which lead to all this weirdness later on in his life...
I hope he was at least able to recapture some of it through playing with his own kids...
May God Bless His Soul....
Kitty

When I heard the news that Micheal had died, I was overwhelmed by a sadness I normally don't experience when other artists leave us too soon. It became painful to even look at all the coverage on tv about Micheal's music, his life, and the scandals he was accused of. The tears kept falling. I pondered if he made his peace with God. I prayed for him down through the years.
THEN I found this on another website and my spirit just leaped!!!
Michael Jackson Got Born Again!!!!

According to this post on Gospel Singers MaryMary's Facebook page.
Mary MaryLast night we received some good news from Terri McFaddin-Solomon who is good friends with Sandra Crouch. Three weeks ago Sandra and Andre' spent some time with their close friend, Michael Jackson. Michael asked Andre` to play, "It Won't Be Long And We'll Be Leaving Here." Michael then prayed with Sandra and Andre and accepted Christ into his heart. Now he's singing in the heavenly choir.! Our hearts rejoice!
Now that's what I'm talking about! I feel like moonwalking over this!

May be the London Tour would have caused him to backslided... I praise God for the information... Thank U
