I heard two messages recently both regarding salvation. One the speaker broke down What is a Believer where the message was from Acts 19 and other chapters in Acts to teach us that there are two types of believers. Those who simply believe and those who act on their belief to receive the holy spirit. So are we a true believers simply because we believe, or are we true believers when our believing leads to our receiving the holy spirit? The other the speaker broke down What is Faith from Romans 4 using Abraham to teach that faith by itself is meaningless, that true faith leads to obediance, that's the works that the author refers to when he says that faith without works is a dead faith, which isn't really faith at all. So if we are saved by faith and faith without works is dead, do you guys think there must be some works of obediance coupled with that faith in order for our salvation to be complete?

So if we are saved by faith and faith without works is dead, do you guys think there must be some works of obediance coupled with that faith in order for our salvation to be complete? Gonna keep it short on this one... ALL BELIEVERS have the Holy Spirit. You cannot be born again WITHOUT The Holy Spirit... which people would stop teaching this. What the believers in Acts 19 did not have was the BAPTISM of the Holy Spirit... and you dont need the Baptism of the Holy Spirit to be a believer... You need the Baptism of the Holy Spirit to operate in POWER... The scripture tells us clearly in Ephesians 2 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. True Faith produces faith filled, faith lead works... thats what faith wothout works is dead means. Those works do not lead to our salvation... We are saved by the grace of God..

True faith will produce works. The works validate the faith from our standpoint.

Faith and Power are two ingredients that works together. It is said that all believer has faith and that they are given a measure of faith. Some have simply faith meaning what you hear and read that the Word is True. Faith is just like a switch and God is the power or the electricity. So as you exercise your faith your faith becomes the switch which generates the electricity from the almighty God. Its like turning on your light switch imagine the power that generates through the wiring until it hits a point that send enough power to turn on your lights that's how are faith in God should be. But not every believer exercise that.
In other words, the emphasis is not on God's giving because He has already put it there (whatever our hearts desire...ask and ye shall recieve. THE EMPHASIS IS ON OUR RECEIVING.
