There were the high-profile gubernatorial races in Virginia and New Jersey, and the NYC mayor's race. However, there were many other races in other parts of the country. Were there any in your city/state? Last night, we elected a new mayor here in Charlotte, our 2nd Black mayor. It was a pretty close race.

I didn't get a chance to vote. However, I know that we have our first ever black DA. The previous woman finally decided not to run again (lynne Abraham)
I know Maine also was added to the "no to gay marriage" discussion. Many of the gay population was shocked by that

^Is that an indictment on Corzine as a leader, or simply as a Democrat?

I am honestly hoping for a republican mayor in Philly....the city is getting worse and worse and has been democratic since 1952!!! I always believe that their is a reason for different parties -- different priorities that creates a balance..... Philly needs a CHANGE!!!

^Is that an indictment on Corzine as a leader, or simply as a Democrat? I think ppl want to take anything to make it a Dem/Rep issue. I really think that ppl were just tired of Corzine. GAP: Hopefully that can rub over to Philly...

That didn't start with Corzine though. Northern states in general have higher property taxes. And NJ is the densest state in the nation.
