This is a branch off from another thread. The question is, as Christians, how can things be "too modest"....shouldn't our goal to weigh more highly on the modest side anyways?

Edit: just saw the thread from which this one originated. I thought we were talking about people being too modest, not clothing. My response was all out in the other field, LOL.
But I think I can see where some people are coming from with this. While I believe that modesty is very much a lost art in the church today, I also don't believe that it's wrong if a woman isn't covered from head to toe. But it's just so easy to see how much secular culture is influencing Christianity instead of the reverse which was the norm in years past.

There is a fine line between 'too modest' and showing off modesty, like blowing ones horn and by that saying look how modest I am?
(Kanyon runs and hides again LOL)

I am not into worldly fashion, I just don't think we should look like muslim women, to be modest... I wear my skirts and dresses way below the knee, but don't sweap the ground and tank tops under tops or dresses that is cut too low, I usually wear big tops/shirt with my jeans and pants... and I don't look like I am from the middle east....

I don't think that we should be prideful in saying "Look how modest I am...."
I've never been a fan of the top under a tank top.....I think I may just be too old.....LOL

Second statement was just my personal opinion about tank tops over other shirts. Nothing against it...just not my thing.

I dress conservative. My sister and I were talking and we both agreed that some of the fashion trends are not to be desired. I feel that you don't need to expose everything that the Lord has given you....leave some things hidden to the eye.
