I was on another message board today and the topic of Pregnant Preachers surfaced..... And of course I brought to the H.O.R....... The topic was that a non married prophetess preached at someone's church and to the Pastor's surprise the speaker was at least 6 months pregnant....and she preached for 45 minutes in high heel shoes... With that being said should a woman preach while pregnant; especially if she is non married? That's all I'm gonna say for now ;D ;D

Unless it was a case of rape, an unmarried pregnant woman should not be preaching. Of course she is not to be punished forever for having fallen into sin, but you've got to be very careful of the message you send in situations like this.

Not sure how I feel about this....mainly because even if it was the case of rape, unless everyone KNOWS that that was the case, there is no difference in the look of a person who is pregnant from rape vs pregnant by fornication.....

She owe an explanation to the congregation she is ministering to. You single and preganant come on explain before you preach one word.... I think she should have waited a least six months to a year After she gave birth.... This woman should not walk in anybody church preaching being pregnant and single. She should have been concern about those who are weak in Christ.... I've read a fiction book about a young girl who attended a private Christian college... She got raped off campus coming home from work. Because of the pain and shame, she didn't go through all the rape procedures. Later she found out she was pregnant... The college president, her boyfriend and close friend knew what happen to her, but she didn't want the whole school to know... She was given a choice to leave the school or the president explain to the other students and facilities why she is pregnant, or adortion. Yes a Christian school, her saved minister boyfriend and her best friend, all wanted her to adort the baby, so no one will know she was preganat. The college feel if they allow her to be on campus pregnant, other will follow.... She left the school, had the baby and married the only friend that didn't turn his back on her....

Honestly, I’ve never really thought of this topic too much…but after the question was posed and me giving thought to it….
I think I really may have an issue with a pregnant preacher period…..
For me it’s the psychological aspect of knowing for sure that the person who is delivering the pure and holy word of God was actually getting it on one night….
Even though I know a man can preach with a pregnant wife on the side but for me it’s the in your face yeah I am/ was sexually active while delivering this word…
I know this may sound sexist and I am sure feminist would be all over me but that’s just my two cents….

Not sure I think that she should have to say before she begins. "I know that you may be wondering why I am pregnant....well, I was raped......."
Or, maybe she was married but her husband died/was killed before she had the baby.....
But I've never had to deal with this but let me ask some ppl. I guess the question becomes, when a person makes a mistake, how long do they have to "pay" for it? Say she has the baby....is she still unable to minister because she had a baby outside of wedlock?
..... like I said, I don't know.....

That is between her and her mentor(s) and God... whatever form of discipline is set by her mentor(s) she should follow... You remember the Prophet that had an ongoing revival here in Florida? He commited adultry and his leaders set him down for over 2 years. He had to go through a process of counselling, fast and prayers... that was over 2 years and I havn't seen him restored yet... I can't think of him name right now...

I agree with AT on this one. I know people of God who have had issues and some even sin and after a period of time they were restored. How long is up to GOD ( at least it should be), them ( based on their attitude, condition and repentance) and their leadership.

I think so as well. In talking to one pastor, he said that they'd probably be able to do things at the home church (based on the congregation) but probably no outside engagements....

Ive preached while pregnant, but I really showing that much yet...lol
But I see how that can bring the focal point to the fact that the preacher was "active" and now we see what you have been up to...lol
But for the most part there is a way that the person can dress, or present themselves in order for that to not be the main thing they focus on

Some good points raised here. I'm in agreement that the time set forth for discipline is between the erring brother/sister, the elders (spiritual leadership), and the Lord. In terms of the contexts of ministry in the case of rape or the spouse's demise, I think there is some wisdom in only allowing in-house ministry for that time period. And even though there is no sin involved in those cases in the part of the pregnant sister, it is probably wise that she take some "time off" after having experienced such trauma/loss anyway.

Rape Or husband died... Ok i can understand that...
But if it forinication that's a different ball game The bibles states Should we continue in Sin that Grace may abound.. God forbid... We as leaders and saints of the most high God are examples of Christ.. and we have to be careful of how we stand before the public....I think just because we are in Grace and God is going to forgive us mindset has some think that is a license to do what we feel... I feel if it's fornication that a person is pregant and preaching.. they should sit down until they have the baby.. (my grandmother said that's what they use to do in the days of old)... they were really strick back in the day.
