Well, I decided to at least watch some of the "beginning shows". Besides the fact that some ppl get through that shouldn't by the judges, and worse than that is based on the audition process (which I read up on when I thought I should go down just because it was in Philly), there's not way those really bad ppl should get anywhere NEAR the judges... Anyways, this one woman sang and sang very well and she was told that she has church presence but wasn't so sure that she had stage presence. I thought we were looking for Sunday's best. They told this one guy that he had a great voice but because he did so many runs he wasn't going through.....um that's something that can be worked on...or just tell him not to run so much.....although unfortunately (yes I said unfortunately) that's how many church ppl sing nowadays.... Just wanted to give some of my recent observations...

I don't like the show ever since they chose the girl who won over the other lady, Sherry ____, I was done. Sherry was annointed and could SING. The other girl came from a megachurch somewhere and had all of the members and their families/friends to call in and vote for her. I really don't feel that she deserved to win as Sherry was so much better. I was through with the show after that. I agree that I don't quite understand what the judges are looking for either. It should be the annointing primarily, but that does not appear to be it.

This season has been the best so far because those that are truly anointed are the remaining singers. Last years winner had incredible singing talent.. but ANOINTING ?? meh.... This year I will say this.. every week simply from hearing the anointing... you know who is going home and who is not... THIS is what Gospel music SHOULD be about... not talent.. not vocal ability.. but ANOINTING.. You know that thing we talk about but dont really understand what it is LOL Ive seen singers who did not have 1/64th of the talent of others but they had the ANOINTING.. One of our old praise and worship leaders was not a very talented singer at all but when she open her mouth... BAM you were in the throne room...

@giants & min lisa
I AGREE!!!! one of the judges said it best in her comments to the guy who just left on this past sunday: you are a "skilled singer" you have "great technique" you know "when to hit hard and when to pull back" you are "very talented" but not once did she say "anointed" what she didn't say said more than all she did. i was both surprised and elated with the two finalists at the end of the show. IT'S THE ANOINTING THAT MAKES THE DIFFERENCE!!!!

I truly agree..I watched it a little last season..but, this season I am glued because the singers that were chosen are truly anointed. They are pulling all stops this year...I loved the episode when Elder Goldwire started dancing and it set the audience off!! His voice is so beautiful..yet, what I like about this season...you can tell that many had a relationship with Lord and it wasn't purely talent. I can't wait for Sunday night's episode. My two favorite singers are going head to head. That competition can either way!!
