COGIC has such a rich history, I saw a film a while back, part of it was in black and white and part colored. It show the founder preaching and laying hands on the people as they was going by and it also show many women in ministry preaching and teaching.
Who know the history COGIC and how, why it changed.

I think a lot has to do with people being "carbon copies" and not originals and not having ppl to really "pass it on" to.

Wow, so many COGIC/former COGIC folks here! I'm in such good company--I'm former COGIC, too! My COGIC church and district was a rural one in MS. Women were most definitely not pastors. When they "brought a Word" it was classified as "teaching" not "preaching". Women were not allowed to "preach" and when she delivered her message she had to stand at a table or a small podium (the kind that people put sheet music on when they are playing). Women were not allowed to stand in the pulpit.
