If you did, what were your views? Do you feel different about the hurricane assistance now?, why or why not?

For those of us who didn't, would you be able to share some things that were discussed?

Well, I'll respond after I watch parts 3 & 4 this evening. The first two parts were... in one word... compelling...

Compelling..!! I watched it and sat there with tears running down my +face. We talk about the blood being on the hands of people who don't say what God said..I would hate to be some of those who will stand before God on judgement Day who did not do what they knew what they could have done. It was heartbreaking seeing that debris from a year ago, had not be removed. Houses being marked with symbols that state that have been searched and no dead was found..and then hearing the story of young man going back to his home and finding his mother still in the house "dead" for months" and having to go through the process of trying to help with getting her body removed the house. Even the house was marked "0" found dead.
It was amazing hearing the voice of a brother speaking of how he felt when he saw the menstrual cycles of women and girls coming on with no protection; he could hear the anger in his voice; then was an actor who shared of how his Father had purchased the family home many years and paid his home owner's insurance for more than 40 yrs.; yet, because he did not have either flood or water damage ( he had one; but, not the other); for the thousands of dollars he had paid out; he only got a little over 600.00.
My views remain to what they were a year ago; more could have been done and should have been done. Hearing people say they could not get help because the funds they needed the most was being spent on a war; and I felt the same way. Yet, it is a reminder that RACISM is very much alive and because it is not experienced by others to the extend that it occurs in the lives of others; many think it things are better. I don't understand how some business have reopened and those who are spread out across this country are still trying to get home; and there are no funds to assist them.

All 4 parts of the series are running on HBO On Demand. In my opinion Spike Lee makes even better documentaries than he does films.

I watched the complete documentary and I tell you, I was crying. One year later. New Orleans has not been re-built, and families are still separated from each other.
I really broke down, when I saw those kids crying I want my mommy, man. I couldn't do it. Even as I write this tears are forming in my eyes. All i could think about was..Lord, what if these were my children.
I dont understand why they were snatching children from their parents and sending them in two separate locations. I understand some children lost their parents due to the flood waters..but for those to be with their parents, and ripped out of their hands and sent somewhere else.. what is that? Another way to separate black families.
I know every one keeps hollering racism for the lack of essentials provided to our brothers and sisters. I agree, But..its more classcism than anything. The lower 9th ward property value was begining to increas. What better way to take back the mule and the acre of land? "Build at your own Risk"? These individuals now have to fight with the city officials to prove whether or not, they owned the land. I understand things were lost..but how easy is it to pull up a document from the state of lousianna system? They want the land, for the commerical business.
And then..to add insult to injury..president bush..ugh. If we have not seen enough display from this character to remove him from office. My gosh. Quote:" I want to thank brownie, your doing a heck of a job".. Someone please tell me what Brownie did? Flew over the waters?
Insurance companies..what a joke. I was hot and disgusted. Core of Engineers: How can you say you are repairing something, that you know beyond a shadow of a doubt that its going to topple over again?
And then the looters will be shot signs. and actually shooting Black people walking by.
I hope the class action suit against the neighboring city across the bridge works in the favor of the new orleans citizens. I was highly LIVID at that. What gives you the right to stand across the bridge with your guns and tell lousianna residents to turn around because we are not letting your cross into our city. WHAT!
Thanks Spike Lee, for always opening our eyes just a little bit more.

Kind of makes you wonder..who knew that was levy was going to break. And how much did they get paid for turning a blind eye. Somebody wanted property and did not care who died and how they died to get it.

President Bush ??...he lives in a place that's untouchable for many of those people..so, he can't relate to the pain of having to watch a loved one ripped one of your arms or not knowing where one's child is after being separated from them.
Maybe Brownie did do what he had been instructed to do..which was to do nothing !!
Jasmine..yes, those levies will break again..the materials that are being used are not solid enough to stand up to the pressures of water was has no natural outlet back out to the Mississippi River or the other bodies of water in that area...it's crazy. And sadly, no one thinks for the future only for the moment.

According to the documentary and other information that I have read on NO; the Katrina evacuees were treated like SLAVES!!!!!!
thanks Keita for the update, I order HBO on demand that day and saw all 4 parts....
This is slavery to the utmost, families torn apart scattered throughout the US.
People got on airplanes and buses and had no idea where they were heading.... sound like the Slave Passage to me.....
I was flabbergasted in 05 and I am LIVID in 06.......
