Amen krazee. You know what I find thats happening at a fast rate across the globe? There is a vast number of couples being forced into marriages, and young couples at that. By their pastors see that's what i mean by over spiritualizing marriages.....we have taken a word given by an authority figure (pastor / prophet) way overboard in regards to marriage.......

Right. many are fornicating, so marriage has become the solution or shall I say "Temporary Fix". amen amen and amen! you in sin and instead of teaching getting yourself together and commit your life to Christ people are thrown in these marriage based on the word of your leader all for the sake of ministry....you can't be effective in ministry while fulfilling the lust of the flesh........and that is what's causing some of the breakdown of marriages the pride of life and lust of the flesh...and it is unfortunate that these leaders a perpetuating this mess....

But I remember hearing in times of old about shotgun marriages.... and many of them lasted.......
One question that comes to mind is what easier? Being forced to get married earlier and have to learn everything about each other; or being able to "date" for a long period of time and get married later (if at all)?

Many lasted because divorce was not an option for them. They would have several ladies to inform them that " johnny" is just being a man, he's a good man, and if you go questioning him, he's gonna leave. etc..etc..etc...
Today women do not tolerate as much as the old saints did.
I believe neither is easier, because the years pass, and people change, and you learn something new everyday. 12 years and I am still learning.

I agree with Jasmine, neither is easier because the times have definitely changed.....we aren't no longer dealing with docile women we are dealing with young ladies who develop into their own and sometimes as a result that change doesn't necessarily includes a husband.......
