I decided to move these questions to a new area because I'm not sure how easy they'd be to find after going through 300+ pages...lol
Question: Should Weeks get jail time? (Why or why not) Question: How do you think the church should've handled this issue? Question: How should the church handle these issues in the future?

Question 1 Yes. Assuming there is a trial, and he is found guilty, then yes, he like any other person in that situation should serve jail time. Why shouldn't he?
Question 2 Like any other criminal act. What if a complete stranger had done this to Juanita Bynum. Would we even be discussing whether or not jail time should be served or how the church should handle it?
Question 3 See answer 2
Other random thoughts:
Should any man that assaults any woman get jail time? Then why is this incident any different? Because he's a "mand of God?" I am deeply saddened. What have we as believers become when we have to wonder if a criminal act should be handled differently because "the church" is involved?

If found guilty in a court of law he shouls serve whatever sentance the court gives out. The church as a whole cannot handle their issue. However their leadership ( whoever it maye be ) should have addressed the issue. Again the church as a whole cannot handle everyones private issues. Our church has handled some domestic violence issues in the past and we have counselled people to separate and get some counselling. However many times the wife ignores the counsel and goes right back to the abuser.

If it can be proven in a court of law beyond reasonable doubt that he did it (and I think it can), then yes he should definitely serve some jail time.
